Goetic Legacy

Overview

Goetic Legacy is an addon for Goety. Its goal is to expand and strengthen Goety's servants and spells through mechanics rather than a pile of stat numbers; its prefab building system improves the vanilla and Goety multiblock experience; it borrows the design philosophy of Enigmatic Legacy to improve adventure structures and loot tables, giving players a more rewarding exploration experience; it also adds original main-story content that expands the Goety world; and it uses a large number of shaderpack-compatible shaders to deliver more magical and experimental rendering effects.

Three main-story bosses and around two original dimensions are planned (one dimension is already partially implemented); the first boss is currently in development.

Core Features

Night Cube

The core item of the mod, and a Curios bauble with unlockable slots. It holds items from Enigmatic Legacy and its addons, as well as related items from Goety and Goety Revelation — 30+ insertable contents in total. Different slots provide different effects:

• Spellstone slot;
• Tome slot;
• Scroll slot.

Equipping the unique items from the mods above grants unique passive bonuses that work in concert with Goety's magic system.

• Dynamic Slot System: starts with 0 slots by default, and you must sacrifice unique items to earn slots (you can also gain more slots by becoming a Lich, or by equipping the Void Tome / Architect's Favor, among other ways).
• Encyclopedia Screen: browse the effects of every insertable content in-game, along with basic descriptions.
• Active Ability "Time Flow": accelerates random ticks, crop growth, minion training and prisoner mining.
• Moon Phase Buffs: different bonuses depending on the current moon phase.

It includes two menus: in the main menu, items placed in the slots automatically display their effects; in the encyclopedia menu, you can look up everything that can be inserted.

Prefab Buildings

Echoes of the Old World are the blueprints of the prefab building system. They appear in any loot chest with a low chance, and players are also given a starter hut when they first enter a world. As of 0.5.1, the mod includes 55 prefab buildings.

The vast majority of prefab blueprints are contributed by the community. If you would like to submit a build, please reach out to the author.

The Void Shaping Sphere is the tool of the prefab building system and handles all of its interaction logic.

• Four modes: Preview → Build → Retract → Create.
• Animated layer-by-layer deployment and implosion retraction effects.
• Players can preview a build first and release the echo after choosing a position; they can equip an empty echo to create their own blueprints and move buildings; and echoes that have already been deployed can be retrieved.
• Supports both built-in templates and custom blueprints (up to 48×48×48).
• A large number of visual effects, which can be turned off in the menu — all of them are shaderpack-compatible.

The prefab building system supports customization: players can edit a blueprint's goeticmeta file in the config folder to adjust its drop chance — a chance of 0 disables it. New blueprints in any NBT format can also be added there. Blueprints retrieved/captured with the Void Shaping Sphere are stored in the same folder and can be put to use right away.

In the future, more convenient creator interaction, blueprint export and import, and blueprints that consume materials and can be used across saves (similar to a blueprint cannon) will be supported.

The Mind Court (New Dimension)

The Mind Court is the dwelling place of the mind, not a purely material world. The platform size of your Personal Court represents the mental space of a life; only after it is expanded to a certain degree can a life step beyond the boundary of its own mind and roam the Mind Court. Life rarely exists in the Mind Court, but it is not empty — the space between players' platforms is filled with countless inorganic, scattered megastructures, and by exploring this wilderness players can find some unique materials.

The Mind Court is not a conventional dimension. Inspired by dreamcore and ARG aesthetics, it uses a large number of shaders and megastructure generators, has a build limit of 1100+, and is highly cinematic while still offering a degree of exploration.

Holy Armor Set

A ritual-crafted armor set with a unique DOT (Damage Over Time) mechanic.

• Incoming damage is stored in a pool, then released back at attackers at a controlled rate.
• A HUD display shows the damage pool, release rate and status in real time.
• A golden breathing border appears on the armor bar while DOT mode is active.

Items & Mechanics

• Myriad Tesseract and Phylactery: quality-of-life tools for interacting with vanilla Goety servants. A servant management item — or even an RTS-like command system — may be added in the future (a pie in the sky).
• Ruby Ring: reduces enemy invulnerability frames on magic damage for faster, more consistent spell output.
• Unholy Scroll: records your spellcasting history, granting scaling bonuses as you cast.
• Spider Specimen Book: makes spiders neutral to you, or strengthens your spider servants.
• Echo of the Old World: blueprint item that captures world snapshots for deployment.
• Revelation's Proof: inflicts bonus vulnerability when casting debuff spells.
• Five new items for the Wind Shrine and one new item for the Crypt, enriching structure exploration.

New Enchantments

• Breaking Stance: reduces servant invulnerability frames for faster attacks.
• Bulwark: provides damage reduction for your servants.
• Wand Power: increases magic damage dealt by wands and staves.
