About StayLapis
From ModrinthKeeps your lapis lazuli inside the enchanting table when you close the UI
A simple utility mod that keeps lapis lazuli inside the enchanting table instead of returning it to your inventory when the menu is closed. Reopen the same table later, and your stored lapis will still be right where you left it.
Install on the server (or in singleplayer) — client installation is optional. Vanilla clients can join and use it seamlessly.
Dependencies: Fabric needs Fabric API and Architectury API. NeoForge needs Architectury API. Forge needs no additional dependencies.
Free to use in any modpack — public or private, no permission needed.
What it does
- Prevents lapis from popping back into your inventory when you close the enchanting interface.
- Safely stores the remaining lapis inside that specific enchanting table.
- Instantly restores the lapis into the slot when you or another player open the same table again.
- Ties the stored lapis to the exact block position and dimension of the table.
- Saves the stored lapis every time it changes, so a server crash while the table is open doesn't lose it.
Details
- One table, one owner at a time — whoever opens the table first gets the stored lapis. A player opening it at the same moment sees an empty slot and gets their own lapis back on close.
- Breaking a table — lapis in an open table's slot is returned to that player. Stored lapis is discarded with the table and never passes to a new table placed in the same spot.
- Storage — lapis is kept per world in the
staylapis/folder. If a storage file is damaged, the problem is logged, the file is left untouched, and tables in that dimension simply hand your lapis back until it's fixed. - Penchant (optional) — on Fabric 1.21.1, StayLapis works with Penchant's reworked enchanting table. A book placed to remove an enchantment is never kept and always comes back to you. Other loaders and versions don't support Penchant.
