About Survival Tweaks
From ModrinthThis datapack adds new mechanics and adjustments to improve gameplay in your single-player or multiplayer Minecraft world.
Survival Tweaks
A quality-of-life datapack for vanilla survival, built for playing with friends without losing the feel of the game. No mods, no plugins — just native Minecraft commands and functions. Every feature switches on or off independently, and any player can do it themselves from an in-game menu, no operator permissions needed (and if your server wants more control, an admin can lock the server settings). Bilingual (English / Español): each player picks their own language.
✨ Features
| | Feature | What it does | |---|---|---| | 🪦 | Graves + compass | Die and everything you had — armor and offhand included — waits in one 3D tombstone where you died, with a glowing sign (your name, the day, the grave number, how many stacks it still holds), a compass pointing straight to it, and a chat line with its number, coordinates and dimension. One right-click gives every item back to its slot, plus your XP; whatever doesn't fit stays in the grave. 27 styles that follow the biome, the cave, the sea, the Nether and the End. A grave never floats: it stands on the ground and drops with it if you mine or burn the block under it. Only you can open your grave, and nothing is ever lost. | | 📊 | Configurable Status HUD | Choose what your HUD shows from nine pieces: day, coordinates, compass, the matching coordinates in the other world (Nether ÷8 / Overworld ×8, handy for portals), an in-game clock, health, hunger, saturation and a live countdown to the next nightfall or dawn. Five one-tap presets, three colour themes and a compact label style for small screens. It's all personal — it only changes your own screen. | | 😴 | Multiplayer sleep | Skip the night with only part of the server in bed — you pick 25 %, 50 % or 75 % of the players. Only Overworld players count, spectators and AFK players are left out, and a live bossbar shows how many are sleeping out of how many are needed. | | 💤 | AFK detection | A player who doesn't move or look around for 3 minutes gets an [AFK] tag and stops holding up the night. It clears by itself the moment they move. | | 🌀 | Teleport requests | Ask another player to come to you, or to go to them: they get [Accept] and [Deny] buttons, and nothing happens unless they accept. Off by default — each server turns it on. | | 🔒 | Admin lock | An operator can lock the server settings so only admins can turn modules on or off, change the radar or change the sleep percentage. Everything personal (your HUD, language, waypoints) stays free. Off by default. | | 📍 | Personal waypoints | Up to 20 per player, each with a type (Home, Mine, Farm, Base, Portal, Village, Dungeon, Treasure, Marker, Other) or your own name from a Book and Quill. A beam of light marks every one from up to 64 blocks away, with its own splash of color per type, and the compass you get is named after it (Waypoint compass #3 · My base). Delete a waypoint and its compass leaves your inventory too. Stepping through a Nether portal auto-saves a waypoint on the side you came from, too. | | ⚠️ | Durability, hunger & inventory alerts | A one-time warning, no chat spam, before your gear breaks, your hunger runs out, or your inventory fills up. | | 🔦 | Dynamic lights | A torch, lantern, or glowstone in hand lights up the spot where you're standing as you walk, no placing required. It only lights plain air, so it never touches water. | | 💡 | Gameplay tips | A random tip in chat every 10 minutes, drawn from a pool of 160+. | | 📡 | Mob radar | Nearby hostile, passive, and neutral mobs show up as icons on your locator bar — 88 mobs across three categories (48 / 32 / 40 blocks by default, with a Short / Normal / Long range button), each category with its own on/off switch alongside the main one. A personal My locator bar switch hides the bar just for you. | | 🧭 | Biome Explorer | A title pops up the first time you set foot in each biome, with a live counter you can check anytime from the menu — plus a full list of what you're still missing. | | 🏛️ | Structure Explorer | Like the Biome Explorer, but for structures: a title pops up the first time you step inside a village, ancient city, stronghold, mansion, trial chambers... 19 in total (20 on 26.3), with a live count and a list of what's still missing. | | 📣 | Share coordinates | One click in the Multiplayer page of the menu sends your position to everyone in chat, each player in their own language, with the Nether ↔ Overworld equivalent already worked out. Click the numbers to copy them. | | 🔔 | World event alerts | Chat alerts for things worth reacting to: a wandering trader shows up (with coordinates and who it's near), a thunderstorm starts or ends, someone triggers a raid, and a heads-up before phantoms when you haven't slept in 2½ in-game days. |
> Every important action has its own sound — every menu button too — so you're > never relying on chat alone to know something happened.
👥 Playing with friends
Everything that only matters with more than one player lives in the Multiplayer page of the menu: sleep (and its percentage), AFK detection, teleport requests, share coordinates and the admin lock.
For server owners. To lock the settings, an operator runs /function cpqol:admin/lock — that makes you an admin, and from then on only admins can change what affects the whole server. Players who aren't admins yet see /function cpqol:admin/claim in the Multiplayer page (click it to type it in the chat). More admins: /tag <player> add st_admin. /function cpqol:admin/unlock opens everything again.
