About Vystorm-Rails
From HangarMinecarts worth building rails for: speed blocks, stations, switches, network map, ice slides, jumps, lava boats.
✅ Ready out of the box – everything is preconfigured. Sensible defaults for every setting: drop the jar (plus Vystorm Core) into plugins/, restart, play. Changing anything is optional – in-game config editor or config.yml.
📅 3 guaranteed updates every week. ⭐ Enjoying the plugin? We'd love a review – your feedback helps us make the plugins even better.
🧩 Runs on Paper/Purpur 1.20.6 – 26.x (Java 21). Newer servers get every feature; on older versions a few extras fall back gracefully (see changelog).
Requires Vystorm Core (free) – the shared base of all Vystorm plugins (English/German language files, in-game config editor, update check). Just drop one extra jar into plugins/, no setup.
Minecarts that are worth building rails for. Faster tracks, stations, destinations and switches, plus special blocks that make carts slide, jump, bounce, spin, climb and even swim on lava. Everything is built with normal blocks and signs: no resource pack, no client mod.
Speed and safety
- Speed blocks. The block under the rail sets the top speed: copper 58 km/h, gold 86 km/h, diamond 108 km/h, soul sand slows down. All in
config.yml. - Safe at speed. Carts brake before curves, slopes and track ends so they don't derail.
- Speedometer. Speed and destination in the action bar while riding.
Cart blocks
All switchable in config.yml; /rails blocks lists what each block does on your server.
- Ice keeps carts sliding after they leave the track: steer with A/D, brake with S. Honey catches them.
- Jump: the last rail on a slime block is a ramp. The faster you are, the further you fly.
- Bounce: a slime block behind the track end sends the cart back.
- Shift: a slime block beside the rail moves the cart onto the parallel track.
- Spin: a rail on magma spins the cart once and sends it back.
- Elevator: a scaffolding column at the end of the track lifts the cart to the track at its top (or lowers it).
- Lava boat: carts swim on lava and paddle with W/A/S/D. Nobody burns; the fire look can be turned off.
- Signal: a rail on a redstone lamp holds every cart while the lamp is powered or another cart is on the next 8 rails ahead. Simple block signalling for busy lines; the cart leaves on its own once the way is clear.
Stations, destinations and switches
[rails]signs below the track:station(stop for a few seconds, depart in a direction),speed(speed limit),dest(set a destination),switch(Farm:e, Mine:n, *:s),collect(empty carts go back to their owner).- Destinations.
/rails dest Farm, and every switch on the way sends your cart there. Station names tab-complete. - Network map.
/rails mapshows rails, stations and you in a chest menu. Zoom, scroll, click a station to travel there. No resource pack needed.
Less clutter
- Leaving or breaking your cart puts it straight back into your inventory.
- Mobs are pushed off the track, ridden carts pass through players, empty carts no longer pick up mobs.
- Vanilla stays vanilla: powered rails launch, activator rails eject, hoppers load. Rails does not duplicate them.
