About AutoRun

From ficsit.app

Hands free movement with a toggle-able key press. Save strain on your hand while running those long distances.

Hands-Free Movement

Satisfactory has long lacked a simple way to toggle continuous forward movement. Community workarounds can be awkward or unreliable, especially when you just want to travel a long distance without holding the forward key the entire time.

AutoRun adds a dedicated, rebindable keybind that toggles hands-free forward movement. Enable AutoRun, steer normally with the mouse, and let the mod handle forward movement for you.

The default AutoRun key is Caps Lock, and it can be changed through Satisfactory's normal Keybindings menu.

Configuration

AutoRun includes several options for customizing how and when automatic movement stops.

Stop On Manual Forward/Back Input

Controls whether pressing the normal forward or backward movement keys cancels AutoRun.

  • Enabled (Default) - AutoRun stops when you toggle AutoRun again or manually press forward/backward.
  • Disabled / Toggle Only - AutoRun continues through normal movement input and only stops when the AutoRun toggle is pressed again.

Strafing left or right does not cancel AutoRun, allowing you to make normal lateral movement adjustments while continuing forward automatically.

Disable When Stuck

AutoRun can automatically turn itself off when the player appears to be stuck against an object or otherwise unable to move normally.

  • Disable When Stuck - Enables or disables automatic stuck detection.
  • Stuck Speed Ratio - Determines how slowly you must be moving, relative to your expected movement speed, before AutoRun considers you potentially stuck. This accounts for situations where the player may still be sliding slowly along an obstacle instead of being completely stationary.
  • Stuck Seconds - Determines how long your movement speed must remain below the configured Stuck Speed Ratio before AutoRun automatically disables itself.

For example, if you stop paying attention and AutoRun carries you directly into a wall or obstacle, stuck detection can shut AutoRun off instead of allowing it to continue indefinitely.

Multiplayer

AutoRun is designed as a client-side quality-of-life mod and works in multiplayer.

The server does not need AutoRun installed for a player to use it. AutoRun uses Satisfactory's normal player movement system, and compatibility has been tested against a vanilla dedicated server.

Version 1.3.0

AutoRun has been rebuilt and updated for the current Satisfactory 1.2 modding environment and Satisfactory Mod Loader 3.12.

This release includes a new Enhanced Input implementation, integration with Satisfactory's normal Keybindings menu, configurable manual-input cancellation, configurable stuck detection, client-only multiplayer support, and dedicated-server compatibility.

The mod has been tested in standalone play and while connected to a vanilla dedicated server. Clean installation, removal, and reinstallation have also been tested against existing saves.

Please report any bugs through the GitHub issue tracker, particularly anything involving multiplayer, unusual movement states, input conflicts, or interactions with other mods.

Future Plans

  • Add an in-game status indicator/icon while AutoRun is enabled.
  • Add configurable sprinting behavior.

Additional features may be added as useful improvements are identified. Feedback and suggestions are welcome, especially where AutoRun can provide a better quality-of-life or accessibility experience.
