VERY EARLY - MEANT FOR SQUIDBOTS ZEUS Cooked for Windows & Linux
Testing v2 skeleton, mesh, and movement
--------------
v2 Information: Redid the skeleton, mesh, animations, and movement for the mech (shows as ZBL v2 in game) Included Strafe and Sprint mechanics to the mech (Hold Infantry Sprint key + W, A or D) Still not physics based, need to redo the mesh again :(
All v1 mechs are still in the mod, information moved to a new discussion entry v2 should (haven't tested on live server yet) have better server performance at the cost of client performance
--------------
Short version: Woke up one day and wanted to make a mech in Squad.
Long version: Wanted to learn Unreal and Blender and decided this was the way I was going to do it. Haven't used either program before so apologies if there are any tick rate issues. I tried to iron out replication issues and animation issues but I may need to restart my progress on another skeleton.
--------------
As of now, the vehicles:
ZBL - Mech with a ZBL Turret - Currently testing v2
If you've never used Squidbots before and want to check out the mod in Standalone, you have two options:
Option 1: - Subscribe to Squidbots Zeus and dependencies - Enter a Training Map in Jensens - ~ to open console and type in some variation of "adminchangelayer zeus_*mapname*" - When ingame & after spawning, press Shift+P to switch to Admin Cam and have the Zeus UI load - Select Vehicles on the left side spawn menu and search for MECH
Option 2*: - Enter a Training Map in Jensens - ~ to open console and type in some variation of "AdminCreateVehicle *vehiclename*" - Fill in *vehiclename* with the list below: - /Mechs_Are_Cool/Vehicle/modular_mech02/BP_mech02_ZBL2.BP_mech02_ZBL2_C
*Only works on Non-licensed servers with featuretest admin permissions (automatically given on Jensen's Range Training) --------------
HUGE shoutout to the Squad Modding Discord, especially Squidders and Virus from OWI as well as the guys at Tactical Collective; the information isn't organized but I appreciate the tips and tricks you all have found over the years.
Assets used: WAProd Robotic Transformers FX Modified Mesh of Humungotron's L5 Riesig 3DPrint Model (he did a great job, check out the model if you want to 3D Print your own)
