Description

It searches the sky for traders automatically in both horizontal and vertical directions. Automatically resets when the found signal is lost.

Setup

You would have to connect a computer with IC Editor motherboard to IC housing. On the computer you would have to press edit, open library and load code from this workshop item. It should be visible there if you have subscribed or something like that. (I don't use the workshop too much, sorry.) After that you should place IC housing somewhere connected to the data port of the dish. After that you would have to select your satellite dish by screwdriver in d0 screw of the IC housing, it would be named dish if you have already placed the IC. If you enable it, it will begin working. (small green/red button)

Technical details

Configuration

There are several values at the start of the script you may safely mess with without of knowing the implementation details.

  • defaultH, default value 45 - vertical angle to perform horizontal search at
  • deltaH, default value 5 - step of the horizontal search
  • deltaV, default value 1 - step of the vertical search
  • minSignal, default value 0.95 - signal strength to stop the search at
  • searchVStart, default value 0.8 - signal strength to move to the vertical search from the horizontal

The algorithm

[olist] [*] If signal is already good, goto 4 [*] Looks horizontally with 45 deg vertical for signal strength of .80 or more [*] Looks vertically from 0 to 90 for signal strength of .95 or more [*] Waits until signal strength is below 0.95 [*] Goto 1
