Enceladus: Tiger's Stripes

The 6th largest moon of Saturn: "A tiny ball of ice coated in hundreds of meters of snow due to cryo-volcanism, resulting in a very high albedo. It's fractured and geologically active tectonic plates rest on top of a massive subsurface ocean of water. Constant but soft snowfall blotting out the already weak sun as well as the lack of atmosphere make solar and wind power unviable."

Pronounced "En-sell-ah-duss"

The south polar region of Enceladus, dubbed "tiger stripes" for its tectonic ridges, presents the highest flux for cryovolcanism and thinnest ice crust. Deep miners here drill into the subsurface ocean and extract high pressure subzero water, which comes out as ice with trace organic compounds.

In the crust ore is rare and ices are abundant. Coal is not present. Uses Mimas space map.

The idea of this planet is to offer a different gameplay loop with deep miners as a source of fuel and gasses instead of resorting to rocketry. It's also just very scenic.
