Hardsuit Auto-Safety & Life-Support (IC10)

An IC10 chip that automatically closes your Hardsuit visor before the environment kills you – and saves filters, oxygen and power along the way.

What it does

1) Automatic emergency seal

The moment the outside world turns dangerous, the chip closes and locks your visor and sounds an audible alert through the suit's Error output. "Dangerous" means any of:

• Pressure too low (vacuum) or too high
• Temperature too hot or too cold
• Oxygen too low to breathe
• Toxic gases over threshold – combined ratio of CO₂, Methane, Pollutant, Nitrous Oxide, Hydrazine, Silanol and Hydrochloric Acid

Pressure and temperature are read from the suit's reliable external values (PressureExternal / TemperatureExternal) – not from the open helmet, whose gas sensor is known to lag.

2) Automatic life-support toggle

• Visor open → filtration, A/C and air release turn off (saves filter durability, O₂ and power)
• Visor closed → everything turns back on

3) Safety first

The chip never opens the visor on its own. When the environment becomes safe again, it only unlocks the visor – you decide when to open it.

Technical details

• Writes only on state change – no periodic re-writing that spams the data network
• Closes once – the helmet isn't re-closed tick after tick
• Runs comfortably inside the IC10 limits: 122 / 128 lines, max 75 / 90 characters per line, only r0–r7 used

Adjustable thresholds

Every limit is a define at the top of the code and takes seconds to change:

Important notes

• Verify the gas names: the Gases update renamed "Volatiles" to "Methane" (LogicType is now RatioMethane). The newer toxins Hydrazine, Silanol and Hydrochloric Acid are wired in using the same Ratio* pattern – if a name differs in your build, check the Stationpedia (helmet → Logic) and adjust that line. A wrong name only throws a harmless error; the rest keeps running.
• Open-helmet gas readings lag: that's why pressure and temperature are the primary, instantly-reacting triggers, with the gas check as an added safeguard.
• Works with the Space Helmet too – it exposes the same logic values as the Hardsuit Helmet.
