Keloris System - More Planets

Formerly just Cupria, this mod is now expanding to cover a range of planets in the Keloris system. Compatible with the Gasses Update.

Note:

This mod requires the separate "Stationeers Expanded World Configs" mod to tweak the Day/Night length and customize the PreviewScene.

Putting this up front - I used AI for this project in areas. Images are AI generated. All the .xml config was done by hand, but some names had LLM input. I feel all too many don't even give warning of this, and I know many dislike their use in any capacity.

Huge thanks to the other modded planet creators Ålgerben and Shenaku. There really aren't many guides out there on how to fully configure your own worlds but looking at the Ålgerben's "Near Earth Exoplanets" and Shenaku's planets "Osirus" and "Baldur" were practically essential for me to get going on this mod. Ålgerben - Near Earth Exoplanets Shenaku - Baldur Shenaku - Osirus

Ålgerben in particular was incredibly insightful due to the wonderful .txt file stashed in the mod directory that was practically what set me off on this project in the first place! I may write a guide of my own to help others get started if there is interest.

To generate the map, I have been somewhat dabbling with a python terrain generation tool. This (due to heavy time restrictions and work obligations) was heavily written by LLM - but has been very effective at generating a 4096x4096 .raw heightmaps that are heavily adjustable. If I can get it cleaned up a bit, I may open the git repo publically. Let me know if there is interest for this, otherwise I will simply use it to create more planets in the Keloris system.

Cupria

Summary:

Cupria has a dense toxic atmosphere primarily composed of thick clouds of Chlorine-based pollutant and Carbon Dioxide. It's crust is Rich with Copper, Lead and Silicon, but is mostly absent of metals like Iron, Nickel and Cobalt. Combined with the rarity of Hydrocarbons, you will have a hard time gathering Steel early on. Days might be nearly 3 times the length of those on Mars, but solar power cannot be relied upon with its thick atmosphere obscuring much of the sunlight and thick volcanic winters imposing near twilight conditions even at midday.

If you want no spoilers, stop reading now.

Details:

120 minutes per day/night cycle.

Cupria will experience Acid Rain which damages objects outside generates a light fog. Volcanic winters have been removed from Cupria and will be replaced with a new weather type at a later point. To compensate, Cuprian max brightness has been dropped slightly.

Temperature from 120C to 160C. Pressure from 96 to 106 kPa. The atmosphere has the following contents: - Mostly Pollutant (54.2%) - High CO2 (23.9%) - Low Nitrogen (7.84%) - Low Hydrochloric Acid (8.77%) - Low Steam/Water (6.12%)

Copper, Lead and Silicon are most abundant. Gold and Silver are somewhat common. Iron, Nickel and Cobalt are rare, and only found on the surface - with some deep mining coverage. Not much Coal on the surface, but there are scattered deep veins you can tap for long-term use. Larger impact craters should provide decent ammounts of surface coal.

(WIP) Hephaeston

Hephaeston is provided as a play-test map and is likely to change. Right now lots of features aren't present for this planet just yet.

Summary:

Hephaeston is the closest planet to Keloris and is a fast spinning ball of lava and hate. Its atmosphere is thin, and full of Carbon Dioxide. It lacks all ices.

If you want no spoilers, stop reading now.

Details:

20 minutes per day/night cycle. Half the duration of the typical Stationeers planet.

It currently has the Solar Storm weather event, much like the moon - but this will be reworked later on into a much more brutal variant.

Temperature from 177C to 437C. Pressure from 6 to 9 kPa. The atmosphere has the following contents: - Mostly CO2 (77.8%) - Moderate Pollutant (17.7%) - Low Nitrogen (4.44%)

The planet currently shares the Ore map of Vulcan and therefore lacks all ice. Otherwise, typical spawning rules apply. Region, Mining and POI maps are not implemented properly yet.

Terminus

Summary:

Some would say Terminus is hardly worth the visit. But underneath its ice-cracked surface is deep layers of graphite obscuring untold mineral riches; assuming you can power your outpust with the fraction of light that reaches this frigid soot-ball.

If you want no spoilers, stop reading now.

Details:

480 minutes per day/night cycle. Solar is very weak this far out.

Temperature from -188C to -138C. Pressure from 2 to 3 kPa. The atmosphere has the following contents: - Mostly Nitrogen (56.7%) - High Helium (25.6%) - Moderate Methane (17.7%)

Surface is mainly scattered with Iron, Copper, Silicon, Coal, Nitrice and Volatiles Ice. All other ores are present but deeper. Higher altitudes have more Ices. Lower altitudes have more Coal and Silicon. The darker basins are particularly Coal rich. Some Deep Mining regions provide decent metallics.
