This is a Plugin Mod. It requires BepInEx and StationeersLaunchPad.
Paint+
Paint+ transforms the Spray Gun into a complete surface editor. Create any RGB colour, adjust emission and roughness, save ten personal swatches, and paint without manufacturing or carrying spray cans.
Use Sample Paint Colour (Right Mouse Button by default) on any paintable object to copy its complete colour and finish directly into the Spray Gun.
Spray Gun controls
- Equip a Spray Gun and open its inventory window.
- Use the red, green, and blue sliders to create a colour.
- Set Glow from 0.00 to 1.00.
- Set Roughness from mirror-like 0.00 to matte 1.00.
- Click a swatch to recall it. Select a swatch and press Save Swatch to replace it.
- Paint normally to recolour one object.
- Use Sample Paint Colour on a paintable object to copy its colour. Paint+ finishes retain their RGB, emission, and roughness, and the Spray Gun stays switched on.
Configurable controls
Paint+ owns two independently configurable actions under Settings > Controls > Paint+:
- Sample Paint Colour — Right Mouse Button by default.
- Paint Connected Network — Left Shift by default.
The default Sample Paint Colour binding intentionally shares Right Mouse Button with Stationeers' Secondary Action. They are compatible: Paint+ samples the targeted surface when appropriate and prevents the Spray Gun from being switched off.
The Spray Gun no longer accepts, requires, or consumes a spray can. Existing cans left inside a Spray Gun are removed when the mod converts it.
Connected-network painting
Hold Paint Connected Network while painting a supported network piece:
- Cables: paints every cable segment in that cable network. Transformers and other network boundaries stop propagation.
- Pipes: paints every ordinary pipe segment in that atmospheric pipe network.
- Chutes: paints every chute segment in that item-transport network.
- LArRE rails: paints every rail, junction, bypass, and dock in that robotic-arm rail assembly.
Connected machines, nearby structures, and unrelated devices are left unchanged.
Important save warning
[quote]Once Paint+ has been used to paint objects in a world, keep the mod installed for that world. Paint+ stores RGB, emission, and roughness in Stationeers' existing colour field using packed values that the unmodded game does not understand. Removing Paint+ may cause custom-painted objects to load incorrectly or may prevent the save from loading. Back up important worlds before removing the mod or installing a major update.
Paint+ does not add custom XML save types. Runtime materials and inventory thumbnails are reconstructed from the stored colour value whenever the world loads. Older Paint+ encodings and the original pre-release pastel colours remain supported.
Multiplayer
The server and every client must install the same Paint+ version. The server remains authoritative for colour selection and painting. Favorite swatches are local to each player.
