🌞 Solar Tracker Maxi MK2 — System Overview
The MK2 is a dual-axis, auto-calibrating solar tracking system designed to maximise solar input while minimising control power. It tracks smoothly across all planets and features stacked memory, full auto-calibration, error signalling, DB output modes, and adaptive sunrise positioning. Designed to be drop-in simple for new players while offering advanced configuration tools for power users.

• Auto-Calibration MK2 learns the correct horizontal correction value for your panel layout — no manual offset math required. • Improved Sensor Search Automatically locates any daylight sensor on the network. No fixed D0 assignment needed. • Stack Memory Saving Stores parking positions and correction data for reuse after reboot or power loss. • Error Codes and Status Signals The IC housing displays 100# mode codes or shows vertical angle or solar efficiency (%). ________________________________________ 🔧 Features Contended
• Dual-axis sun tracking • Compatible with all movable solar panels • Auto-parks at dusk based on efficiency thresholds • Optional: track at night (requires housing power) • Optional lever or switch to force park manually • Zero control power at night when parked; ~50 W by day (for IC housing and logic) • Minimal setup Note: All solar panel power ports must face the same direction. ________________________________________ ️ 🖥️ System Requirements
• 1 or more solar panels • Daylight Sensor • IC Housing • IC10 (Integrated Circuit) • Cables as needed Recommended: • Small Transformer (set to 51 W) Optional: • Switch or lever (for manual park override) Only for Setup • Computer or Laptop • IC edit Motherboard ________________________________________ ⚙️ MK2 Setup Guide (Recommended)
1. Place your solar panels with power ports all facing the same direction. 2. (Optional*) Insert a Small Transformer into the solar cable and set it to 51 W. 3. Place a daylight sensor anywhere on the same network (data side of the IC housing). 4. (Optional) Wire a switch or lever to D1 for a forced-park override. 5. Load the MK2 script. 6. Edit the configuration values at the top of the script if needed. 7. Export the code onto an IC10 and insert it into the housing. 8. Power the IC Housing and allow the system to initialise. 9. For storm protection or auto-recovery, consider adding fixed panels that face sunrise or straight up. Note: Full auto-calibration may take 2–3 in-game days for panels to face the sunrise after night parking is perfectly set. also see youtube link and pictures for visual setup guide. ________________________________________ Tuning Parameters
LowSunAngle (default 75°) Higher values delay dusk parking. Useful if hills or structures block the horizon. Lower the number if not parking. LowPower (default 40%) Minimum panel efficiency required to keep tracking. • Lower = tracks deeper into dusk • 0 = always track (never auto-park) DBWrite Controls what the IC housing "Setting" value displays: • 0 → vertical angle • 1 → solar efficiency (%) Useful for debugging or fine-tuning. RestStacker • 0 → normal operation • 1 → clears stack and resets stored correction (use after changing panels or/and sensor orientations) ________________________________________ 🧪 Quick Diagnostic Guide
IC Housing Status Codes: • 1000 → No daylight sensor detected → Place a daylight sensor on the network. • 1001 → Auto-configuration mode → Wait for the system to finish learning. If the sun is up and the panels are facing the wrong way, supply power to the IC housing (manually rotate a panel toward the sun using a wrench). • 1002 → Auto-configuration Night Parked mode → Wait for the system to finish learning. • 1003 → Manual park active → Reset lever or switch. • Decimal number, eg 95.273849 (angles or power % Config value set) → System operating normally. If not parking when expected, adjust configuration parameters. Tracking is incorrect by 90° or 180°? 1. Set RestStacker = 1 2. Export and reinsert IC, then power the housing 3. Set RestStacker = 0 4. Allow the system to fully re-initialise and auto-configure ________________________________________ 🚀 Final Notes
The MK2 is a complete evolution of the MK1, featuring stronger automation, adaptive sunrise tracking, and fast, stable movement across all planets. Enjoy peak solar efficiency everywhere you build!
