PAYLOAD COUNTDOWN

"Gentlemen, today we launch a rocket into BLU Team" - The Administrator after realising the other use for rockets.

Setting

RED is just about to launch a devastating rocket and its up to BLU to escort their payload cart through this snowy mountain facility to destroy it before it's too late! Travel up the wooden facade of this mining facility to enter RED Team's recently evacuated rocket launch site, scrambling to launch this rocket before BLU team can successfully detonate the rocket prematurely.

Gameplay

Countdown is a four-point Payload map set in a snowy, Barnblitz themed environment. Drawing inspiration from classic TF2 maps such as Barnblitz, Upward, and Junction, Countdown incorporates familiar gameplay elements like the dangerous cliffside overlooking Point B, the Barnblitz turnstile following Point A, and dynamic doors that alter the available routes throughout the map. These familiar mechanics are combined with new ideas, including a sprawling, spiraling final area.

Rocket Launch Finale

Once BLU captures C Point, the countdown begins, meaning BLU must destroy the rocket before the timer reaches zero, or RED will successfully launch it! During the final 60 seconds, the launch sequence begins, bringing the finale to life. Windows shutter, alarms sound throughout the facility, and the rocket begins to rumble as the launch approaches. With the clock ticking down and the rocket ready for liftoff, both teams are thrown into a frantic final showdown. Whether you are fighting to stop the launch or holding the line until liftoff, the finale makes for some particularly intense pushes!
