Crypto Forest

Crypto Forest:

You get lost in an infamous Forest known for its sightings of cryptids and legends. You suddenly hear a mysterious stranger calling out to you. He tells you about a terrible event coming in 4 days. You now have to co-operate with the Stranger to prevent this event from happening.

The Trader

Introducing a brand new character, The Trader! Fully modelled, animated and fully voice acted, with a whopping 117 voice lines, The Trader is a mysterious figure that will help you with your stay in the Forest. He will give you missions, tell you secrets and reward you for your troubles with keys for locked doors, and other necessary items.

The Safe House

The Safe House includes... An "oddity" map of the forest, which will show you where Trader's items can be found. A Resupply Cabinet A VCR Player for VHS Tapes. It comes with its own original Resident Evil styled Music!

VHS Tapes

VHS Tapes are collectibles found throughout the forest, or got from the Trader. When put into the VCR Player, they will reveal bits of the lore. There is a complete total of 4 VHS tapes, all with their own story!

Multiple Endings

There are multiple endings! They are:

• A Bad Ending
• A Good Ending
• A Secret Ending

The Ending depends on the player's choices.

1. Subscribe to the map. Then navigate to the folder: Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/440/2487430950/

2. Copy the .bsp file and paste it to the folder: Steam/steamapps/common/Team Fortress 2/tf/maps

!!IMPORTANT!!

3. Before you Launch the map, be sure to delete your sound.cache from: Team Fortress 2/tf/sound If you don't do this, a lot of sounds like Trader's voice lines may not work.

4. Type "map crypto_forest_a2" in the console.

If the above doesn't work for you, here's an alternative:

1. Subscribe to the map

2. Start TF2 and look at your console, there will be a list of maps you've subscribed to on the workshop.

3. Before you Launch the map, be sure to delete your sound.cache from: Team Fortress 2/tf/sound If you don't do this, a lot of sounds like Trader's voice lines may not work.

4. Find Crypto forest 2.0 on the map list in your console and copy the thing in the brackets and paste it as "map copy-paste"

5. It should look something like this: map workshop/crypto_forest_a2.ugc2487430950

Since the forest is vast, here is a map for many of the landmarks. This isn't all there is to encounter in the forest. Some points of interest aren't marked.

This map can be found in-game in the Hunter's Cabin and the Safe House

The Wendigo

• Stalk the neighbouring Darkwoods Region
• Highly aggressive
• Ambush prey from bushes

The Flatwoods Monster

• Seen in the neighbouring Flatwoods Region.
• Alien origin
• If it spots anything in its eyesight, immediately becomes hostile and starts firing rockets.
• Half-functioning cloaking mechanism

The Mothman

• Area unclear, airborne
• Attracted to lights
• Weather control
