About Saekonungr Ships
From ThunderstoreEight original ships inspired by historical Viking ships: Færing, Karfi, Skeide, Busse, Knarr, Ferje, Skute and Jekte, with flat decks for Build On Ship. Cargo ships, an animal ferry and a courier. Replaces the vanilla boats.
Sækonungr Ships
Valheim ships inspired by historical Viking ships, each with its own original hull and a flat, level deck for Build On Ship.
Eight ships are in the beta: four that replace the vanilla Raft, Karve, Longship and Drakkar, and four with brand-new jobs, a cargo ship (the Knarr), an animal ferry (the Ferje), a fast courier (the Skute) and a big open cargo ship with a stern rudder (the Jekte, which is experimental).
Seven ships are settled. The Jekte is experimental: its stats, recipe and look may change a lot in future versions, and the comparisons in this page (fastest, toughest, biggest chest) do not rank it against the other ships.
Needs BepInExPack Valheim, Jötunn and Build On Ship. Thunderstore and mod managers install all three for you. In multiplayer, the server and every player need the same version of the mod.
> ### Beta notice > This is a public beta (currently 0.7.28). The ships are playable, but speeds, handling and recipes can still change. Please report bugs and send feedback here: batboys.dev/feedback. Tell us the mod version, which ship, whether you were in single player or on a server, and attach BepInEx/LogOutput.log if something broke. > > Mod page and screenshots: batboys.dev/mods/Saekonungr

Features
- Inspired by historical Viking ships. Each ship takes its inspiration from a Viking-age boat or ship type (the Jekte from a later, post-Viking one), in an original low-res style that fits Valheim.
- Flat decks for Build On Ship. Every deck is level from end to end, so you can build right out to the bow and stern.
- Working oars. Oars pivot at the rail, stroke aft, and are shipped out of sight when you raise sail.
- Sea chests and rowing benches. Every ship has its own cargo chest, rowing seats, a helm and boarding ladders.
- Vanilla ships stay safe. Raft, Karve, Longship and Drakkar are only hidden from the hammer menu (and you can switch that off). Vanilla ships already in your world keep sailing and can still be taken apart.
- Works on existing worlds. You don't need a new world.
Færing (replaces the Raft)
The first boat: a cheap skiff for river crossings, fishing and short coastal hops.
- About 7.6 × 1.9 m, 350 health.
- Four oars and a small mast with an ochre wool sail with two madder-red stripes.
- Rows at about 2 m/s and sails at about 4 m/s. Very tight turns.
- 3 × 2 chest, three seats including the helm, boarding ladder on the port side.
- Recipe: Wood 30, Resin 8, Leather Scraps 6.
Karfi (replaces the Karve)
The first real sailing ship: coastal cargo and a small crew.
- About 12 × 3.7 m, 600 health.
- Four oars, a full-size mast and a broad madder-red and cream striped wool sail.
- Rows at about 2.6 m/s and sails at about 7.7 m/s, a little faster than the Karve.
- 4 × 2 chest, five seats (four rowing benches and the helm).
- Recipe: Fine Wood 30, Core Wood 10, Bronze Nails 80, Deer Hide 10, Resin 20.
Skeide (replaces the Longship)
A slim, fast troop ship, and the best rower of the fleet.
- About 21.6 × 4 m, 900 health.
- Ten oars, five a side, with a shield rack along both rails (decoration only).
- Blue-and-cream checked wool sail on a full-size mast.
- Rows at about 4.8 m/s and sails at about 11 m/s, faster than the Longship. Turns wide and steadily.
- 6 × 2 chest, ten seats plus the helm, boarding ladders on both quarters.
- Recipe: Fine Wood 40, Ancient Bark 40, Iron Nails 100, Troll Hide 10.
Busse (replaces the Drakkar)
The royal flagship and the toughest of the settled ships.
- About 26.9 m long and 8.4 m wide, 3500 health.
- Sixteen oars, a carved dragon head at the bow and a tail at the stern, shields along the rails, and a dark sail with a gold-and-red diamond band.
- Raised foredeck and stern deck on a long, flat main deck.
- Keeps the Drakkar's Ashlands protection: no ash-water damage and very resistant to fire.
- Rows at about 2.1 m/s and sails at about 9 m/s. Turns wide and steadily.
- 8 × 4 chest, seventeen seats, boarding ladders on both quarters.
- Recipe: Yggdrasil Wood 40, Fine Wood 40, Ceramic Plate 30, Iron Nails 120, Lox Pelt 10. Nothing from the Ashlands is needed, so you can build it to get there.
Knarr (new: cargo ship)
The cargo hauler: a deep, round-bilged merchant ship with a carved boar's head at the bow and a curled boar's tail at the stern, a half-deck at each end and an open hold between them.
- About 14.1 × 5.1 m, 1500 health.
- The biggest cargo chest of the settled ships: 8 × 5 (40 slots). Crates, barrels and sacks show in the hold as it fills.
- A full hold sits a little lower and sails a little slower (up to about 12 cm lower and 8% slower). You can turn that off.
- Sails at about 7.5 m/s empty and about 6.9 m/s with a full hold. Rows at about 1.6 m/s with two oars a side.
- A cream, blue-bordered trader's sail with a red merchant's mark. Plain red and plain blue sails are a setting, and so is an optional awning over the aft hold.
- Three stools and a helm, boarding ladders on both sides.
- Recipe: Fine Wood 60, Ancient Bark 40, Iron Nails 150, Wolf Pelt 10, Linen Thread 20.
Ferje (new: animal ferry)
