Wings Of The Forgotten Gods

Forgotten powers have left more than ruins behind. Craft living wings, master the open sky and choose which ancient gift will follow you into battle.

Every pair of wings grants true flight and protects its wearer from falling. Each one also has its own character, progression and signature ability.

Wings of Hraesvelgr

Light wings born from the winds at the edge of the world. They are the swiftest of the three and reward travellers who value speed, freedom and control in the air.

Wingbeat

Unleash a rushing wave of wind that staggers nearby enemies and casts lighter creatures away.

Control: press the middle mouse button.

Crafting

• Recipe: 30 Feathers, 30 Bone Fragments, 20 Wolf Hair and 10 Resin

Wings of Tyr

Heavy wings forged from black metal for warriors who want greater protection without surrendering the sky. Their weight makes them slower, but every feather hides a blade.

Blades of Tyr

Send a fan of wing-blades towards the crosshair. Improved wings release more blades and strike with greater force.

Control: press the middle mouse button for a quick volley, or hold it to aim and release it to attack.

Crafting

• Recipe: 30 Black Metal, 50 Linen Thread and 20 Tar

Wings of Nidhogg

Living black-and-crimson wings touched by blood, tar and Eitr. They strengthen a mage's reserves, shrug off the grasp of living tar and steal life through close combat.

Tentacles of the Abyss

Living darkness bursts from the wings, binds nearby enemies and drains life from every captured victim.

Control: press the middle mouse button.

Crafting

• Station: Workbench
• Recipe: 40 Tar, 30 Giant Blood Sacks and 10 Refined Eitr

Taking flight

• Hold <kbd>Jump</kbd> through the peak of a ground jump to take off.
• Press <kbd>Jump</kbd> while airborne to open the wings and glide. A long fall opens them automatically.
• Hold <kbd>Run</kbd> in the air for powered flight, and use <kbd>Forward</kbd> to build speed.
• Hold <kbd>Jump</kbd> to climb, or hold <kbd>Backward</kbd> to dive.
• Use <kbd>Left</kbd> and <kbd>Right</kbd> to bank and turn.
• Press or hold the middle mouse button to use the equipped wings' ability.

While a building tool is in build mode, the middle mouse button keeps its normal Valheim building function and does not activate the wings.

A heavier pack makes powered flight more tiring. Travel light for the longest journeys, or accept the extra stamina cost when carrying a full load.

Keyboard and gamepad controls follow Valheim's configured movement, jump and run bindings.

Installation

Thunderstore Mod Manager

Install Wings Of The Forgotten Gods and its dependencies from Thunderstore. Use the same mod version on the server and every connecting client.

Manual

1. Install BepInExPack Valheim 5.4.2350 or newer.
2. Install Jotunn 2.30.0 or newer.
3. Remove the previous mod DLL and asset bundle before upgrading.
4. Extract the release archive into BepInEx/plugins/WingsOfTheForgottenGods.

The mod is required on both the server and every client in multiplayer. Item names, descriptions and effects support all 36 base Valheim languages.
