Skyherd

A helicopter pen for tamed animals. The herd wagon follows you on land. The herd ship is a flat hull you sail, and its helicopter can pick you up or lift animals out of the wagon.

A Valheim BepInEx 5 plugin built on Jotunn. Requires DFGHub for the shared hammer category.

Both are in the Hammer, under DFG.

The helicopter parks on the ship's landing pad. Coal (25 fuel) and wood (5 fuel) feed animal lifts. The mule does not burn fuel, and calling the helicopter to pick you up does not either.

How to use

1. Build a pen from the Hammer.
2. Look at a tamed animal and press <kbd>H</kbd> to mark it. <kbd>Alt+H</kbd> marks every tame near that pen.
3. The helicopter lifts off, winches the animal, and lowers it into the next free cage.
4. Press <kbd>E</kbd> on a cage to release that animal beside the pen. It comes back tamed, with the health and stars it had when it was picked up.
5. Press <kbd>Shift+E</kbd> on the wagon, a cage, or the ship's herd post to stoke the helicopter.
6. Press <kbd>V</kbd> or <kbd>Shift+F</kbd> to tell the nearest wagon to follow or to stay. <kbd>E</kbd> on the wagon console does the same.
7. On the ship, walk the rear half of the deck until the Steer prompt appears. <kbd>E</kbd> takes the helm, <kbd>W</kbd> and <kbd>S</kbd> set speed, the mouse turns, and <kbd>E</kbd> lets go. The sail is a separate prompt on the mast.
8. Press <kbd>G</kbd> within range of a herd ship and its helicopter flies to you and sets you on the deck.
9. Press <kbd>N</kbd> to send that helicopter for the animals in a nearby wagon's cages. That lift still needs fuel.

Tune wagon, ship, cage, mule, and helicopter size at http://127.0.0.1:8795/ while the game is running. A slider rebuilds pens that are already placed.

Installation

1. Install through your mod manager (recommended).
2. Manual: place Skyherd.dll and the .glb models into BepInEx\plugins\Skyherd\.

Configuration

BepInEx/config/com.dfg.skyherd.cfg

• Follow, pickup, and wagon-fetch hotkeys
• Fuel, flight height, and how far the helicopter will come for you
• Separate size and position sliders for the wagon cages and the ship cages
