Combat and Loot
Loot the moment monsters die, star levels that grow with every boss, loaded crossbows and grappling hooks, a range check for the hook, calmer arrow effects, floating loot, breeding info and Valheim Legends add-ons.
14 mods in one: Instant Loot, Boss Stars After Defeat, Quiver Toggle, Keep Loaded, Grapple Aim, Arrow Effects, Floating Loot, Breeding Status, Legends Toggle, Charm Scaling, Hit Effects, Passive Forsaken Powers, Cape Feather Fall, Staff Aim.
Every mod in detail, with all its settings: see the Wiki tab.
How it works
- Open the settings (F1). At the top, 0 - Sub-mods has a switch for every mod in this pack: turn on only what you
want. Switching one off removes it right away, no restart.
- Below that, every mod has its own settings, under its name.
- F1 needs a config manager mod, e.g. ConfigurationManager by shudnal
(included in Digi Modpack). Without one the mods still run with their default settings, and you can change the settings in r2modman: Config editor → digi.valheim.combat.cfg.
- Upgrading from the separate DigiTeam mods: your settings are copied over automatically the first time. Remove the
separate ones (a mod that is still installed separately is skipped here).
Mods
Instant Loot
Monsters drop their loot the moment they die, shown in a stacked pickup list.
- No more waiting for the body to fade. Corpse time adjustable (default 60 s).
- Pickups stack in one small list (
Leather scraps x7) instead of a message per item; position, size and colors adjustable. - Loot can never drop twice.
Boss Stars After Defeat
Needs Star Level System.
Every boss you beat allows more stars on creatures, with more trophies from starred ones.
- Every boss you defeat raises the star cap of the earlier biomes, up to 5 stars.
- A boss has no stars until you have beaten it once; after that it can get stars too.
- Gentler extra damage per star, none at sea, and better trophy chances from starred creatures.
Quiver Toggle
Needs ishid4.mods.betterarchery.
Better Archery: hide the quiver on your back (and/or on other players).
- Better Archery hangs your quiver on your back: hide it on your own character and/or on other players. Only what you see changes; the quiver works as before.
Keep Loaded
Crossbows and the grappling hook stay loaded when you switch weapons.
- The loaded state is saved on the item, so it even survives logging out.
- Reload in advance, switch to your sword, switch back and fire straight away.
Grapple Aim
The crosshair turns red when the grappling hook would not catch where you aim.
- Red crosshair when the hook would miss: out of reach, past its 60 m rope, or a surface it can't hold on to.
- Follows the hook's real flight exactly, also with Epic Loot's Grapple Flight Time and Projectile Speed. Works with Better Archery, and fixes its free ammo from hook shots.
- The hook's tooltip shows its range.
Arrow Effects
Tone down the effects of fire, poison and frost arrows.
- A slider each for fire, poison and frost arrows (0-100%): particles, light and glow.
- Modded arrows and bolts included; changes apply right away.
Floating Loot
Dropped items float on water instead of sinking.
- Every dropped item floats like wood; you can choose items that should still sink.
Breeding Status
Hover a tame animal to see why it is or isn't breeding.
- Under a tame animal's name: fed or not, too crowded, partner nearby, and its love points.
- Works with modded animals.
Legends Toggle
The host turns Valheim Legends on or off for everyone, live.
- Turns classes, abilities, passives and the Legends stat changes off or on, no restart. Only the host or an admin can change it.
- Your class and Legends skill levels are kept while it is off.
- Bonus: skills from mods you removed are no longer deleted from your character.
- The Enchanter's Zone Charge works in the Deep North (Legends has no buff there): it gives the Mountain buff. And the Mountain buff no longer makes the Enchanter take more frost damage (a Legends bug).
Charm Scaling
Needs Valheim Legends.
The Enchanter's Charm lasts longer as your Alteration skill grows.
- Instead of a flat 30 seconds; at Alteration 100 it matches the 60 second cooldown.
Hit Effects
Fades the effects that cover creatures in combat (burning, frost, poison, hit bursts), so you see their attacks coming.
- Faded, not removed: opacity, brightness and size sliders, and a switch per kind of effect (status effects, hit bursts, weapon, projectile and area impacts). Real lights are never changed.
- Your own damage feedback stays at full strength unless you choose otherwise.
- Built to be light: no work every frame. Replaces Dimmer Combat Particle Effects: remove that one.
Passive Forsaken Powers
Forsaken powers are always on: the one you chose at a boss stone, or every power you unlocked.
- The host chooses: only the power you picked at a boss stone, or every power you unlocked (stones you used, bosses defeated in this world, or boss trophies you picked up).
- A new power applies the moment you choose it at a stone; each character has its own.
- No "released"/"gained" messages at death and respawn, and no power icon unless you switch it on.
- Replaces Digitalroot's Passive Forsaken Powers: remove that one.
Cape Feather Fall
A switch per vanilla cape that gives it feather fall, like the Feather Cape.
- Turn feather fall on for the capes you like (Cape of the Caller, Lox Cape, ...): you fall slowly and take no fall damage while wearing it. All off by default; the Feather Cape has it anyway.
