About Radar Love

From Thunderstore

A simple minimap radar with proper icons that never clutters your map, plus automatic pins for the dungeons you find.

Radar Love

A simple radar for your minimap. Things near you show up on the map as you travel, and drop off again when you move on - your map stays yours.

What it does

Radar. Creatures, fish, pickables, ore and places of interest within range appear on your minimap and large map with their own icons: a creature shows its trophy, a plant the item it gives, an ore deposit its ore. Things of the same kind close together share one pin with a count, like 5x. Creatures move on the map as they move in the world. Nothing inside dungeons is ever shown - those are yours to search. Nothing the radar shows is saved, and picked plants disappear until they grow back.

Don't want a pin? Right-click it on the large map, then right-click again to confirm (the confirmation can be switched off). Deposits, plants and places stay gone for good in that world; a creature stays hidden until you log out. Restore Dismissed Pins in the config brings them all back.

Done with something? Left-click its pin on the large map to cross it out, and again to clear it - the same as your own pins. Crossed-out deposits, plants and places stay crossed out.

Your own pins still click exactly as before.

Dungeon pins. The first time you reach a dungeon entrance, it is pinned to your map with its name and icon. That is the only thing that is ever pinned for you. Delete the pin once you are done with a dungeon and it will not come back. If you already have a pin on that spot, no second one is added.

Configuration

Settings are in BepInEx/config/dwarfhavengames.radarlove.cfg, or in game with Configuration Manager (F1). Changes apply straight away.

| Section | What's in it | | --- | --- | | General | Radar on or off, radius (default 70 m), names under icons (with their own switches for dungeons and custom pins), and how close things must be to share a pin | | Groups | One switch each for creatures, fish, pickables, ores, dungeons, points of interest and locations | | Creatures, Fish, Pickables, Ores, Dungeons, Points of Interest, Locations | A switch for each individual thing, plus a catch-all for creatures, pickables and dungeons not listed | | Dungeon Pins | Auto-pinning on or off, how close you have to come, and the pinned message |

Most ruins and structures are listed but off by default.

The radar leaves out what the game already shows you or what you never need to search for: bosses and their altars, traders and other places the game marks once you find them, and anything inside a dungeon.

Adding things from other mods

The radar knows the base game. To add something from another mod, put it in Custom Pins (section Custom): its prefab name, then = and the item whose icon to show, separated by commas.

AzuriteVein=CopperOre, SomeModCave=TrophySkeleton=Spooky Cave

A third part sets the name shown under the pin. Leave the icon out to use the object's own. Changes apply straight away.

To find a prefab name, open the console (F5), look at the thing and type radar_hover. It prints the name, what the thing gives, and a line ready to paste into Custom Pins. Standing inside a location prints that location's name too. The same lines go to the BepInEx log, so you can copy the Custom Pins line from there. The console needs Valheim started with -console.

Multiplayer

Only you need it. It never asks the server for anything. If a server does run it, players on that server need the same version.
