Essence Tree of Valheim (Árvore da Essência de Valheim)
English first · em português mais abaixo.
Talent trees for Valheim 1.0, made for the ernandevc server.
Essence of Valheim
The currency of the talents. You earn Essence:
- By killing wild creatures you damaged at least once. The value depends on the creature's stars and health.
Poison, fire and your summons count as your damage.
- By killing bosses: every boss kill pays everyone who dealt damage (see Bosses).
- At the Offering, on the bar below the inventory (TAB). An item is worth everything spent to make it, down to the
raw materials. The game asks for confirmation first. What is hard to get is worth more:
- trophies and rare creature drops: half the Essence of the kills (without stars) that, on average, make it drop;
- boss trophies and materials: a share of the boss total;
- treasures and vendor purchases: 2 Essence per coin of the price;
- boss summoning items: what the altar asks for, added up, is worth 20% of the boss total.
- One item: click the item to pick it up and then click the Offering.
- Several items: click the Offering with no item in hand. The inventory turns teal; click items to mark them (the value
shows on each one) and then Offer or press Enter. Esc or Cancel leaves.
- Equipped items don't go to the Offering.
Talent trees
In the inventory (TAB), the button with the tree icon (with your balance below it) opens the window. There are four trees: Warrior, Archer, Mage and Utility (Q and E switch trees).
- Hover over a node to see its effect in the right panel, click to select it and use the panel's button to learn it.
- The dividers show how many levels spent in the same tree open each row.
- Level 1 of a talent costs 500 in row 1, 1,500 in row 2 and 4,000 in row 3; each following level costs 20% more than
the previous one.
- When you learn a talent, the new color climbs up the trunk and fills the branch up to the talent. The trunk turns
golden when the rows below are complete.
- Any character can invest in any tree.
Bosses
Each of the 8 bosses gives a permanent bonus to whoever damaged it, once per character. The bosses sit at the bottom of the window's panel: hover over one to see its bonus. Each boss defeated also opens the next biome, which limits the Potency of the spectral weapons.
Every boss kill also pays Essence to everyone who dealt damage, and the trophy is worth Essence at the Offering:
| Boss | Kill | Trophy | |---|---|---| | Eikthyr | 200 | 50 | | The Elder | 400 | 100 | | Bonemass | 600 | 150 | | Moder | 800 | 200 | | Yagluth | 1,000 | 250 | | The Queen | 1,200 | 300 | | Fader | 1,400 | 350 | | Kall Fimbulbringer | 1,600 | 400 |
Class powers
The power sits at the root of the class tree, unlocked from the start. Only one is chosen at a time. Its level has no cap: level 1 is free, level 2 costs 5,000 and each following level costs twice the previous one (10,000, 20,000, 40,000...). Each power has an active effect, which lasts 20 s per level, and a passive one that applies while it is chosen.
The chosen power is ready to use right away. The 10 min cooldown starts when you activate the power and is shared by all three (switching powers doesn't reset it). The chosen power's icon and cooldown show on the HUD, next to the Forsaken power. If another mod puts buttons there, like the quick slots of Equipment and Quick Slots, the frames move right after them.
The chosen power is your class. To switch:
- In the tree: in each class's tree, the golden button to the right of the tabs chooses that class. On the chosen
class it becomes the "CHOSEN CLASS" badge, and its tab gets a golden border.
- Shift+U, outside the inventory and standing still: switches to the next class (Berserker → Sentinel → Enlightened
→ Berserker). While walking or running, Shift is the game's run and U calls the weapon, as always.
- Switching only works out of combat (10 s without hitting or being hit) and with the mode off. While it is
blocked, the button shows the reason and the time left.
- The spectral weapon in your hand switches to the new class's weapon too.
| Power | Active | Passive | |---|---|---| | Berserker Mode | attacks 2x faster and with no stamina cost, every hit you take becomes a parry and staggers the attacker, and you take only half damage from any source | 10% melee life steal | | Sentinel Mode | 6 arrows in a spiral per shot, converging on the same target (from very far, the spiral opens up); each deals 50% of the damage, so the shot is worth 3 arrows; the chance effects of the branches, Chain and Haunting apply once per shot | infinite arrows | | Enlightened Mode | infinite Eitr (except for the Hand of Final Judgement), spells deal double damage, you take only half damage from any source, and a 10 m circle around the mage: anyone inside gains +10% damage and 5 health per second | +60 max Eitr, even without Eitr food |
On activation, each mode has a transformation animation, seen by everyone nearby: the Berserker roars and hunches over, red and steaming; the Sentinel kneels under a pillar of golden light; the Enlightened rises with open arms among orange runes and lands. Any action cuts the animation short (the light effects remain), and the mode's timer only starts after it.
Spectral weapons
Each class has a golden spectral weapon, at the root of its tree next to the power, already at level 1. The U key summons the weapon of the chosen class mode, and pressing it again stows it (for the Mage, holding U opens the element wheel). When summoned, golden sparks fly into the hand and the weapon forms with a flash; when stowed, it crumbles into embers and leaves the hand 0.3 s later. Out of combat, the character also plays the R key's draw-weapon gesture, which, as with R, leaves you about 1 s unable to attack or run; in combat the gesture doesn't play. Everyone nearby sees it.
