About QuickStackPlus

Quick Stack, Smart Storage chest filters, inventory/container sorting and junk management for Valheim.

QuickStackPlus

QuickStackPlus is an inventory and storage management mod for Valheim focused on making item handling faster without taking control away from the player.

Quick Stack, Smart Storage filters, sorting, item blacklisting and trash management are combined into one lightweight system designed for both single-player and multiplayer.

Features

  • Quick Stack – Instantly move matching items from your inventory into nearby containers.
  • Smart Storage – Choose exactly which item types each container is allowed to store using a searchable filter menu.
  • Container Sorting – Sort container contents on demand with a dedicated Sort button. Containers are never automatically rearranged when opened.
  • Inventory Sorting – Quickly organize your player inventory with the built-in sorting system.
  • Item Blacklist – Protect selected stacks from Quick Stack with Left Alt + Right Click. Blacklisted items stay in your inventory.
  • Trash / Junk System – Mark unwanted items with Shift + Right Click and delete marked junk when you are ready.
  • Visual Item Markers – Blacklisted and trash-marked items are clearly highlighted directly in the inventory.
  • Configurable Shortcuts – Quick Stack, sorting and Smart Storage controls can be customized per player.
  • Configurable Search Radius – Set how far Quick Stack searches for nearby containers, up to 80 metres.
  • Multiplayer Friendly – Core settings can be controlled by the server while personal UI and shortcut preferences remain client-side.
  • No Container Ownership Restriction – Quick Stack works with accessible containers regardless of which player originally placed them.

Quick Stack

Press the configured Quick Stack key and QuickStackPlus searches nearby accessible containers for matching items. Moved items are summarized in a detailed notification showing item names and quantities.

By default, Quick Stack uses existing container contents to determine where items belong. Smart Storage can extend this behavior by allowing an empty container to advertise exactly which items it should accept.

Smart Storage

Smart Storage gives individual containers their own item filters.

  1. Open a container.
  2. Click the Smart Storage filter button.
  3. Search or browse the available items.
  4. Select the item types that the container should accept.
  5. Use Quick Stack normally.

Filtered containers are preferred when routing matching items. If no Smart Storage container accepts an item, QuickStackPlus falls back to classic Quick Stack behavior.

The item picker automatically reads available ObjectDB items, including compatible modded items. Weapons, armor, tools, utility equipment, non-stackable gear and internal/untranslated entries are excluded from the picker. Selected items are pinned to the top, and Inventory, Select shown, Clear all and search controls make larger item lists easier to manage.

Smart Storage selections are stored on the container and can therefore be shared by players. Using the Smart Storage interface itself remains optional for each player.

Sorting

QuickStackPlus can sort both the player inventory and the currently opened container.

Sorting is always an intentional action: opening a container does not automatically rearrange its contents.

When Sorting > ExcludeBlacklistedItemsFromSort is enabled, blacklisted items keep their current player inventory slots. Other items sort around them. This option is off by default and requires EnableBlacklist. Container sorting is unaffected.

Blacklist

The Quick Stack blacklist is player-local. By default, use Left Alt + Right Click on an item in your inventory to toggle that individual stack on or off the blacklist.

Blacklisted items:

  • remain in your inventory when Quick Stack runs;
  • are marked with an orange border;
  • are saved on the marked stack, rather than in a list of item types.

The blacklist can be disabled without deleting the saved entries.

Trash / Junk

Use Shift + Right Click to mark unwanted inventory items as junk. Marked items receive a clear visual indicator and can then be deleted using the configured trash action.

This keeps accidental deletion separate from normal inventory interaction while still making cleanup fast.

Default Controls

| Action | Default control | | --- | --- | | Quick Stack | P | | Sort | O | | Toggle blacklist | Left Alt + Right Click | | Mark trash / junk | Shift + Right Click | | Delete marked junk | Delete | | Container Sort shortcut | Disabled by default | | Toggle Smart Storage button | Disabled by default |

Shortcuts can be changed in the BepInEx Configuration Manager.

Configuration

Important options include:

  • General > Enabled – server-controlled master switch for QuickStackPlus.
  • SearchRadius – server-controlled Quick Stack search radius, up to 80 metres.
  • EnableStorageFilters – enables Smart Storage behavior for the local player.
  • ShowSmartStorageButton – shows or hides the Smart Storage button for the local player without deleting existing container filters.
  • ToggleSmartStorageButtonShortcut – optional shortcut for quickly showing or hiding the Smart Storage button.
  • EnableBlacklist – enables or disables the local Quick Stack blacklist while keeping saved blacklist entries intact.

Configuration descriptions are available directly in BepInEx Configuration Manager.

Multiplayer

QuickStackPlus is designed for multiplayer use. The master Enabled switch and Quick Stack search radius are server-controlled, while shortcuts and personal interface options remain client-controlled.

Smart Storage filter selections are stored on containers, allowing players using Smart Storage to share the same storage rules.

For multiplayer, install QuickStackPlus and its required dependencies on the server and clients as required by the synchronized configuration.
