About FlatHoe

From Thunderstore

Hoe that levels ground into perfectly flat dirt or pebble pads. Adjustable size, square or circle, auto-clears trees and rocks, sloped edges, undo.

Flat Hoe

Adds two hoe pieces that level the ground into a perfectly flat pad in one click: Flat Hoe (dirt) and Flat Hoe (pebbles). You choose the size and the shape, see a preview before you click, and can undo any flatten.

Also on Nexus Mods: https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/4403

Features

  • Perfectly flat pads of dirt or pebbles, with a radius from 1 to 16 m (6 m to start).
  • Square or circle shape.
  • Levels to the crosshair: the pad is built at the height of the green preview plane. Hold Shift to level to the height under your feet instead.
  • Sloped edges: no vertical walls around the pad, so mobs can't get snapped up onto it from a moat or water. Set the angle with EdgeSlope (0 = vertical walls).
  • Moats hold: creatures pressed against a steep wall are no longer snapped up on top of it. Creatures that really fall through the ground are still rescued.
  • Auto-clearing: trees, logs, stumps and rocks inside the pad are removed. Ore, scrap, obsidian and crystals are kept.
  • Undo (Ctrl+Z): terrain, paint and cleared trees and rocks come back. It keeps the last 20 flattens.
  • Free by default. You can switch the vanilla hoe costs back on.
  • HUD next to the crosshair: width, depth, shape and height mode.
  • English and Russian text.

Configuration

The config file is BepInEx/config/com.valheimtools.flathoe.cfg.

Multiplayer

From 1.3.2 on, every player needs this version, so that PreventWallSnap works for everyone.

Installation

With a mod manager (r2modman / Thunderstore Mod Manager): click Install. BepInEx is installed automatically.

Manual: install BepInExPack Valheim, then copy FlatHoe.dll into Valheim/BepInEx/plugins/.

Changelog

1.3.2

  • Fixed: mobs no longer get snapped onto the pad from moats. This is the new PreventWallSnap option, on by default. Set EdgeSlope = 0 for sheer vertical moat walls. In multiplayer, all players need this version.

1.3.1 (hotfix)

  • Levels to the crosshair: the pad is built at the height of the green preview plane, so no more surprise pits. Hold Shift to level to your feet height instead.
  • Sloped edges: no more vertical walls around the pad, so mobs can't get snapped up onto it from a moat or water. Adjust with EdgeSlope in the config (0 = the old vertical edges).

1.3.0

  • Undo: flattened the wrong spot? Press Ctrl+Z. Terrain, paint and cleared trees and rocks come back.
  • Auto-clearing: trees, logs, stumps and rocks inside the pad are removed. Ore, scrap, obsidian and crystals are kept.
