Broadside

Design and build your own ships, from a one-man skiff to a 50 m pirate galleon. Lay a keel on a dry dock, raise ribs, plank the hull, add decks, cabins, masts and sails, then launch it from your hammer and sail. Arm it with ship cannons and fight: shots punch holes, the sea floods in, and wrecked ships sink.

Features

• Dry dock: keel block guides and keel blocks to build on; designing is free.
• Hull tools: keel, rib, planking, deck, railing, ladder, cabin, masts and sails, bowsprit, post caps, doors and windows,

each sized in a small window and editable after it is built.

• Meadows and Black Forest woods and fittings, a rudder for each, and raw hide sails.
• Blueprint table: save the ship on the dock, build a saved one back onto it, share designs with the server, and see a

ship's speed, stability, weight and cost before you build it.

• Launch from the hammer: every saved ship is built on the water near a workbench, for what its parts cost.
• Hammer menu: every Broadside piece under its own Broadside entry, beneath Transportation.
• Real sailing: the ship floats on its own hull; square sails want the wind behind, gaff sails and jibs sail closer to it.
• Steering by tiller, or a captain's wheel with working steering gear; anchor windlass, hatches, crow's nests, pennants.
• Ship panel: speed, top speed for the wind and sails you have now, explore radius, health and your guns' reloads.
• Log off aboard and you log back in on the same spot on deck.
• Ship cannons, built on a launched ship: bronze with stone shot, or iron with iron shot.
• Storage: rope-lashed and slatted crates, a cannonball pile and a black powder pile that fill up as you stock them;

all built on land or on a launched ship.

• Cargo crane: lifts any crate onto and off ships and carts; dropped from too high, a crate breaks.
• Aboard: hammocks (your spawn point sails with the ship) and trawl net winches that haul fish onto the deck.
• Docks: a dock tool for piers in three woods, 34 dockside decorations and an auto-decorate tool.
• Build aboard: AllowBuildingOnShips (off) lets any piece be built on a launched ship.
• Broadside from the helm: U fires the side you look toward and reloads from the ship's piles, then your pack; J shows

the shot arcs.

• Battle damage: holes through the hull, flooding, bailing, holed sails and falling masts; wooden repair kits patch

leaks at sea and the hammer mends the rest.

• Edit at sea: railings, ladders, doors, windows, masts and sails can be changed while the ship is afloat.

Ready-made ships

Found in the hammer under "Ship: Ready-made/...":

• Black_Gull: 50 m pirate galleon, two gun decks, 40 gunports, three masts.
• Little_Gull: half-size galleon, 12 gunports.
• Storm_Petrel: two-masted brig-of-war, 18 gunports.
• Wayfinder: explorer's schooner with a crow's nest, 6 gunports.
• Merchant_Cog: tall-sided trader with a cargo hold.
• Hearth_Barge: a floating home with a long deckhouse.
• Sea_Raven: a Viking longship.
• War_Raven: the longship with three lidded gunports a side.
• Fjord_Skiff: a small coastal boat.
• Fjord_Wasp: the skiff with two gunports a side.
• Skerry_Sprite: a tiny, fast sloop for one.

Gunports come empty: build cannons on the ship once it is launched.

Install

Needed on every client and the server. Install with r2modman or the Thunderstore app, or put Broadside.dll in BepInEx/plugins.

Configuration

BepInEx/config/milkyteam.broadside.cfg. Every setting is described in the file and applies without a restart; the server's values bind every player. Saved ships are JSON files in BepInEx/config/Broadside.Ships, sail pictures PNG files in BepInEx/config/Broadside.Sails.
