Chronicles of Northarun

A tall runestone that keeps the saga of the server. Every boss kill, every first step into a new land, every absurd death, every raid and every new Viking is carved into it as a verse, in English or Polish, in the style of the old sagas.

The runestone

• Hammer → Misc → Runestone of the Chronicles (40 stone, 10 coal, next to a workbench; configurable).
• E opens the saga: tabs All · Battles · Fallen · Explorers · Gods · Guilds · Villages · Skald, newest verses first, Older verses… loads more.
• The right column shows the heroes of the saga: boss slayers, pathfinders (first into a biome), the regulars of Valhalla (most deaths) and every boss felled on the server.
• Hovering the stone shows the latest verse. The carved runes glow with a warm amber light.
• There is no hotkey: you read the saga at the stone, so build one in the village square.

What gets written

Verses are stored as data, not text — every player reads them in their own language, boss names and quest titles included.

On an existing world the saga starts honestly: bosses the world already knows (global keys) and their biomes are not announced as "the first in history".

New verses of the Battles, Fallen, Explorers and Skald categories also appear in the top-left corner and in chat (ShowNewEntries). Gods, Guilds and Vikings Village already announce their own events, so those are not repeated.

Admin commands (F5 console, server admins)

• saga add <text> — the skald carves your own verse (events, tournaments, server history).
• saga last [n] — the latest verses with their ids.
• saga del <id> — erase a verse.

Discord

Set [3 - Discord] Webhook on the server to post new verses to a channel. Language chooses English or Polish, Categories which tabs are posted (default: all).

Configuration

Client: Language (Auto / English / Polish), ShowNewEntries, RunestoneLight.

Server (2 - Saga): MaxEntries (5000), RecordBosses, BossPartyRange (80 m), Deaths (Notable / All / Off), DeathPlayerCooldownMinutes (90), DeathVersesPerHour (3 for the whole server), DeathChance (0.2 for common deaths; rare ones are always written), DeathMilestones, WeakCreatures, RecordBiomes, RecordNewcomers, RecordRaids, RecordGods, RecordGuilds, RecordVillages.

Runestone (4 - Runestone): Recipe, CraftingStation, HammerCategory.

The saga is saved in BepInEx/config/Chronicles/<world>.dat (with a .bak copy).

For other mods

Gods, Guilds and Vikings Village need no changes — the Chronicles listen to their server announcements by themselves (soft hooks; any of them may be missing).

Notes

• Everyone must have the mod (server and clients).
• Server-authoritative: players only report what happened to them; the server decides what is worth a verse, who stood near the boss and whether a killer was really a Viking online.
