Dive for items lost in deep water with a visible breath supply and movement controls.

> NOTE — Why I made this mod: Valheim was not intended for players to travel underwater. I made Valyn Diving to retrieve dropped items that otherwise cannot be picked up in deep water. Diving may also allow barnacle gathering after a Leviathan submerges and change Serpent fights. Those are unintended side effects of the ability.

Features and controls

• Hold the game's Crouch action to descend and Jump to ascend; hold Run to swim faster. Your Valheim keyboard and controller bindings are used. Default keyboard keys are Left Control, Space and Left Shift.
• A blue breath bar beside stamina shows time underwater. Breath refills at the surface; higher Swim skill extends it.
• Move along the seabed, slower than normal swimming. If you stall while moving uphill against a steep underwater slope, a small upward assist helps you return to swimming.
• A configurable third-person camera can follow below the waterline.
• Stamina does not regenerate while submerged or swimming, including when touching the bottom. Shallow wading can still regenerate it by default.

Settings

The default breath supply is 30 seconds, and Swim skill can double it at skill 100. Normal swim stamina drain is 0.85×, and holding Run increases swim speed to 1.25× with corresponding drain. Seabed speed multiplier starts at 0.55 of swim speed; raise it if seabed travel feels too slow. Steep seabed swim assist, Allow movement on seabed, Allow underwater camera, and No regeneration while in water are enabled by default. Edit BepInEx/config/valyn.mods.diving.cfg after first launch. The slope assist also uses the configurable Ascent speed (default 3).

Manual installation and updating

1. Close Valheim and install BepInExPack_Valheim.
2. Copy plugins/ValynDiving.dll into BepInEx/plugins/ValynDiving/ and restart the game.
3. Replace the previous DLL when updating; keep only one enabled copy. The existing config file can stay.
