About Adjustable Hunger

From mod.io

Set how quickly movement drains hunger in Core Keeper. Adjust it anytime with /hunger; the default is half speed for the whole world.

Adjustable Hunger

Change how quickly walking and running spend hunger in Core Keeper. The default is half the usual drain. The world host or a server admin can change it in chat at any time:

/hunger — Show the current multiplier
/hunger 0 — Stop ordinary movement based hunger drain
/hunger 0.5 — Half the usual drain (default)
/hunger 1 — Restore the usual drain
/hunger 2 — About twice the usual drain

The setting saves automatically. Hunger changes happen in the server simulation, so the host's setting applies to everyone in the world. Install this mod and CoreLib 5.0.0 or newer on the host or dedicated server. Players who want to enter /hunger themselves should also subscribe to both mods. Core Keeper restarts are needed after subscribing.

Only ordinary movement based hunger drain changes. Food values, buffs, starvation effects, movement speed, and the hunger display are handled by the game as usual. Standing still does not drain hunger in the inspected game version. Because the game removes hunger one point at a time, a short walk may not show the exact ratio.

Re-inspected and compile checked with Core Keeper 1.3.0.0 (Steam build 25386808). The relevant hunger code is unchanged from the previously load-checked 1.2.1.5 build, but runtime loading and the in-game effect of each multiplier have not yet been re-tested in 1.3. The package includes its source files.

Update notes

1.3.0: Stable release for the Core Keeper 1.3 line, revalidated for Core Keeper 1.3 and prepared for Steam Workshop distribution.

0.1.0: First release with configurable hunger drain and a CoreLib /hunger command.
