About Complete Tools

From mod.io

Every tool in every material, from Wood to Relucite – and loot-only tools craftable if you want.

Complete Tools

Every tool in every material, from Wood to Relucite.

Core Keeper's five core tools skip materials: there is no Relucite Pickaxe, no Copper Fishing Rod, no hoe beyond Scarlet, and the sledge hammers only come from loot. Complete Tools fills every gap with twelve new tools that match their vanilla neighbours, and — if you want — lets you craft the tools the game only hands out as loot.

New tools

  • Shovels: Solarite, Relucite — up to 4×4 and 5×5
  • Hoes: Octarine, Galaxite, Solarite, Relucite — up to 6×6, 7×7, 8×8 and 9×9; the Galaxite Hoe glows like the other Galaxite tools
  • Pickaxe: Relucite — breaks the common walls of Breaker's Reach
  • Fishing rods: Copper, Relucite — the Relucite rod reaches the waters of Breaker's Reach without other gear
  • Sledge hammers: Wood, Solarite, Relucite

The shovels, hoes, pickaxe and rods are crafted at the workbench of their material (the Relucite tools at the Relucite Smithing Table), with the handle material of their tier. Levels, power, durability and swing follow the vanilla tools of the same kind. The three new hammers drop as loot, like their vanilla siblings: the Wood Sledge Hammer from wooden crates and world chests, the Solarite and Relucite ones from chests of their tier. They are craftable only with the setting below switched on.

Optional: loot-only tools craftable

One setting under Options → Mod settings, off by default. Switched on, it adds all nine sledge hammers, the Garden Trowel, the Hand Drill and the Scarlet Hand Drill to their workbenches.

  • It needs a restart to take effect.
  • It is per player: every player's game reads their own setting. In single-player it does exactly what it says. In multiplayer — hosted or dedicated — the host cannot enforce it: the server checks a craft's materials, not what a workbench offers, so a guest who has it on can craft hammers in a world whose host has it off.

Two changes to vanilla items

  • Galaxite Sledge Hammer: its recipe now also takes 20 Coral Wood Plank — every other hammer has a handle. Sell value and salvage follow the recipe.
  • Galaxite Shovel: reaches 4×4 instead of 3×3, so shovel sizes grow steadily with the tier. Its in-game description still says 3x3; the size is 4×4 all the same.

Both are undone when you remove the mod.

Multiplayer

Works on dedicated servers; install it on the server and on every client. Every new item has a fixed item ID that does not depend on which other item mods are installed, so client and server agree on what a craft produces.

Compatibility

  • Tool Resizer and PlacementPlus set tool sizes themselves and take precedence over the sizes above. Harmless.
  • Caveling Divining Rod and other mods that add recipes to the same workbenches keep their place; Complete Tools' window goes after theirs.
  • If another mod already filled one of the empty slots in the first window of the Galaxite or Solarite Workbench, that one tool is left out, and the game log says which.
  • If the setting doesn't stick: General Mod Config Menu is known to turn off saving for other mods' settings. Disable it while you change the setting.

Requirements

  • CoreLib (required)
  • Simple Crafting Pool Extender (required) — the extra workbench windows
  • Mod Settings Menu (required) — the setting

mod.io will prompt you to install all three when you subscribe.
