WHAT IS THIS MOD?

DevCaItemLock is a server-side mod that gives you complete control over which items players can use and for how long. Create unlimited restriction groups based on SteamID, define exact expiration date and time for VIPs or events, and automatically force all expired items to drop from players (including those who were offline when their VIP ended). During the 2h grace window items stay locked for everyone until VIP is renewed, and all blocked attempts / expiry warnings are mirrored to Discord via webhooks. Perfect for VIP systems, admin gear protection, event exclusives, or temporary access packs. No client installation required.

100% server-side mod for DayZ. Restrict any item to specific players using SteamID-based groups with automatic config reload, precise expiration (date + time), forced drop on expiry, and Discord notifications for blocked access and upcoming VIP expiration.

QUICK START

1. Subscribe & Restart Server Auto-generates config at: profiles/DEVCarlos/DevCaItemLock/

2. Edit DevCaItemLock.json Add admins, create groups, set items to restrict, and define expiration date + time when needed

3. Save & Wait Mod auto-reloads changes and expiration checks (default every 5 minutes)

4. Done! No server restart needed

CONFIGURATION OPTIONS

m_Enable 1 = Mod active | 0 = Disabled

m_ReloadInterval Minutes between config checks and expiration evaluations (1-1440)

m_Admins Array of SteamIDs with full bypass access

m_ExpirationDate Group expiration date[/b>. Supports [b]DD/MM/YYYY (recommended) and legacy YYYY-MM-DD. Leave empty ("") for permanent access.

m_ExpirationTime Group expiration time in 24h format HH:MM (e.g. "09:30" or "18:45"). Leave empty ("") to expire at 00:00 of the given date.

m_EnableWebhook Enable Discord notifications (true/false)

m_WebhookURL Your Discord webhook URL

EXPIRATION SYSTEM

Each group can have an expiration date + time. When the configured moment is reached, the mod:

• Forces all items from that group to drop from every affected player (online or on next login)
• Locks those items for everyone (no pickup/use) during a 2h grace window
• Sends big on-screen warnings and Discord webhooks as expiry approaches

EXAMPLE 1 - VIP Pass (Expires 30/06/2025 at 18:00)

DISCORD WEBHOOK SETUP

CREATE WEBHOOK: 1. Discord > Server Settings > Integrations > Webhooks 2. Click "New Webhook" 3. Copy the URL 4. Paste in m_WebhookURL 5. Set m_EnableWebhook to true

NOTIFICATIONS INCLUDE: - Player name & SteamID - Item type accessed - Action: Blocked / Allowed / Admin Bypass / Expired - Location coordinates - Group name - Online player count - Timestamp

HOW IT WORKS

Player picks up restricted item: 1. Mod checks player SteamID 2. Is player an admin? → Allow & log bypass 3. Is player in whitelist group and group is not expired? → Allow 4. Group expired (date + time reached)? → Drop item, block use and keep it locked until VIP is renewed 5. Not in group? → Block & send warning (big on-screen + Discord)

Discord receives webhook: - Item blocked notifications - Admin access attempts - Group expiration alerts - All with player/location details

FEATURES EXPLAINED

ADMIN BYPASS Add SteamIDs to m_Admins for unrestricted access. All attempts logged in Discord.

GROUP EXPIRATION Time-limited VIP, seasonal events, temporary bans. After the configured date + time passes, items are dropped from players and locked from everyone (quarantine) instead of becoming free.
