[i]Laidlaw Island is an isolated tropical archipelago built around a harsh and unstable environment. Extreme heat, colder periods, storms and dangerous explosive events are not simply atmospheric effects: they directly influence how players equip themselves, travel and prepare their routes.

The goal is to make environmental adaptation an actual survival mechanic. A single loadout is not intended to remain optimal in every situation. Heavy equipment may become a liability during extreme heat, while travelling too lightly can become dangerous when temperatures fall.

Environmental sounds, visual effects and dynamic events reinforce this atmosphere. An optional background story is also present for players who wish to explore it, without ever imposing a specific way to play.[/i]

FEATURES

Original tropical map – A hand-built archipelago featuring beaches, cliffs, forests, lagoons, cities and coastal environments. Environmental survival – Extreme heat, cold periods, storms and strange events directly affect survival. Tactical equipment choices – No single loadout is ideal at all times. Players must adapt their clothing, carried weight and travel plans to current conditions. Unique cities and locations – Several towns and points of interest are being created specifically for Laidlaw. Optional background story – A narrative exists without imposing objectives or a specific playstyle. Community-driven development – The map continues to evolve through player testing, feedback and suggestions. Primarily designed for survival and hardcore gameplay – Dynamic events may be less suited to heavily scripted RP servers, although communities remain free to adapt the map to their needs.
