Overview

MephistoLabs is MephistoGaming's DayZ server panel. The dashboard is at tools.mephistobot.ca. This mod, @MephistoLabs, reports players, vehicles, events and chat, and carries out actions you send from the dashboard.

Server only. Load it with -serverMod=. Players do not install it and do not subscribe to it.

Requirements

  • Steam sign-in at tools.mephistobot.ca. No separate password. Staff are invited by Steam64.
  • BattlEye RCON: RConPort, RConPassword, RestrictRCon 0, and the UDP port open. The map still works without RCON. Chat, kicks, bans, automation and the scheduler do not.
  • The Server ID and API key from Add Server. The key is shown once.

Installation

  • Sign in at tools.mephistobot.ca.
  • Add Server with the public address, game port (default 2302), RCON port and RCON password. Copy the Server ID (it starts with sb-) and the API key. A new key replaces the old one immediately.
  • Load it with -serverMod=@MephistoLabs. Other server mods: -serverMod=@OtherMod;@MephistoLabs.
  • Copy MephistoBot.bikey into the server keys folder.
  • Save MephistoLabs.cfg beside the live server_console.log. The name must be exactly MephistoLabs.cfg.
  • Start the server. Connected means a check-in within the last 45 seconds.

The cfg is read when the process starts. In the RPT, server-not-registered is a bad Server ID and bad-key is the wrong API key.

MephistoLabs.cfg

{
  serverId: sb-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
  apiKey: PASTE_YOUR_API_KEY_HERE,
  debugEnabled: true,
  speedCheckEnabled: false,
  speedCheckMode: detect
}

Quote serverId, apiKey, speedCheckMode and those values. Leave debugEnabled and speedCheckEnabled unquoted. No comma after the last field. With -profiles=ServerProfile the path is ServerProfile/MephistoLabs.cfg.

Optional keys can be omitted.

  • connectionVerification (default false) only logs a credential check. Failure never stops reporting or kills the process.
  • metricsInterval and reportingInterval default to 2 seconds. Events report every five intervals, never faster than 10 seconds.
  • lockServerOnStart (default false) requests a lock at startup. Some builds ignore that scripted command.
  • speedCheckEnabled (default false) checks speed after the first successful poll. The owner and team are skipped, so a staff teleport is not logged. Others alert at 8 m/s on foot or 100 m/s in a vehicle.
  • speedCheckMode (default detect) is detect or kick. Quote the word. detect only alerts. kick also disconnects that player. Staff are never kicked. Anything else is treated as detect.
  • enableMagicBulletCheck (default false) flags a hit over 4 m off the body, or blocked over 2.5 m short, between 6 and 80 m. It does not kick.
  • BattlEye chat cleanup is off unless you turn it on: drop join and leave lines, strip a BattlEye: prefix, or skip that channel.

Dashboard

Header: name, online state, Server ID, address, players, uptime and last check-in. Charts cover players, server FPS, AI, animals, vehicles and entities.

Send is an RCON chat line, to everyone or one player (400 characters). Broadcast is a pop-up plus chat to everyone, through the mod, so it still works if RCON is down.

Live map

Chernarus and Deer Isle, picked from the server. Positions refresh about every two seconds. Drag a player or vehicle and confirm. Right-click a player to heal, feed, spawn gear or a vehicle, bring them to you, go to them, strip, kill, message, note or ban. Bring and go need you in game on the same Steam account.

Vehicles spawn complete and fueled, with repair, refuel, unstuck and delete. Any classname can be spawned. The owner has live chat on the map.

Events, profiles and logs

Crashes, contaminated zones, flags, airdrops and locked containers are reported. Flags keep height, time left, and who raised or lowered them. Expansion adds name, level, owner, members and radius.

Profiles show names, Steam64, GUID, sessions and, if online, health and position. IPs are for the owner and administrators. !kd is kills and deaths, player versus player only.

Automation and scheduler

The owner edits up to 50 timed messages, 60 chat commands and 50 triggers. Nothing sends while the server is offline. These lines use RCON. Placeholders such as {{ players }} and {{ next_restart_in }} fill in on send.

Built in: !help, !online, !uptime, !restart, !discord (add your invite, it starts off) and !kd. Triggers fire on connect, disconnect, kill or a chat keyword. Localization rewords kick, ban and restart text.

Up to 50 jobs: restart, message or kick-all, created off. A restart warns, can lock, kicks, then shuts down. The host starts it again.

Moderation

Bans, the whitelist, chat and name filters, the ping limiter, VPN check, GeoBlocking and Steam checks use RCON and start off. The owner and the team are exempt. Bans take a Steam64, GUID or IPv4. Only the owner deletes or imports them.

The whitelist is the player join list. On, only listed players, the team and exempt IDs stay.

A filter rule is a whole word, or re: and a regular expression. The ping limit defaults to 250 ms over three checks. Notes are staff-only.

Queue priority

Steam64 IDs who skip a full queue, written to priority.txt over FTP. Not the whitelist. disablePrioritylist in serverDZ.cfg must be false or omitted.

Discord and team

The dashboard can have MephistoBot create the channels. Invite the bot: bot invite It posts staff actions, placement, dismantle and door opens, and a server panel about every five minutes. It does not post pickups, destroys, wrong code-lock attempts or a kill feed.
