About AOE Tools

From mod.io

Area of effect tools. Updated to 14.0.3 This update includes attempts to make the mod more durable to updates from the devs. The code references vanilla tools and creates the AOE tools from the referenced vanilla items.

AOE Tools

AOE Tools expands several of Eco’s standard tools by giving them an area of effect that increases with each tool tier. Higher-tier tools can work a larger area, making large-scale mining, digging, farming, and harvesting faster and more rewarding.

Included Tools

  • Pickaxes

  • Shovels

  • Hoes

  • Sickles

  • Modern Scythe

Each tool’s area of effect is based on its tier. Tool behavior and balance settings can be adjusted through the included configuration file.

Mod Files

The mod has been consolidated into four main files:

  • AOETools.cs — Contains the tool definitions and primary mod code.

  • Configuration file — Contains the adjustable settings for the AOE tools.

  • AOETools.unity3d — Contains the primary tool models and assets.

  • AOEShovels.unity3d — Contains the shovel models and their required textures.

Installation:

Unzip folder and place Folder in server mods/usercode folder.

Using Easy Logging and Mining too?

Easy Mining's own pickaxe file breaks AOE pickaxes (the block behind the one you aim at breaks on the first strike). AOETools 1.2.0 fixes this by shipping its own Tools/PickaxeItem.override.cs, which lands at the same path as Easy Mining's and replaces it. To keep Easy Mining's auto-collect and lucky-break features:

1. Install AOETools (or delete Easy Mining's Mods/UserCode/Tools/PickaxeItem.override.cs). Its tree-logging file is separate and keeps working.
2. In Mods/UserCode/AOETools/AOEToolsConfig.cfg, under [Compat], set EasyMiningPickaxe.Enabled = True.
3. Restart the server. The log will show "AOETools: Easy Mining pickaxe compat is ENABLED".

Don't run Easy Mining? Leave the switch at False. The file then behaves exactly like vanilla.

If you update Easy Mining later, its zip puts the old pickaxe file back. Delete it again after the update.

for help with my mods you can ping me as IronEyes in the official Eco discord
https://discord.gg/B4kC8N5zsc
either in the Mod-help channel or in the mod-ads channel add a comment to the post about that mod. The notifications from ec.mod.io can be very slow to get to me so discord will be more consistent.
