Eco Chat Item Linker

Integrates seamlessly into Eco’s default chat. When players type any item’s localized name, the message automatically turns those names into clickable links to the item’s info panel—no commands or setup.

Features

• Native chat integration: extends the existing chat pipeline (no new commands).

• Localization-aware: uses the game’s current language.

• Whole-word matching: avoids partial/substring matches and false positives.

• Broad compatibility: works with vanilla items (and modded items using standard Item definitions).

• Lightweight: server-side, no gameplay changes or configuration.

How to Use

1. Type a message that includes item display names (e.g., Iron Bar, Steel Hammer).

2. The posted message will show those names as clickable links.

3. Click a linked name to open the standard in-game item info UI.

Compatibility

• Game: Eco 0.12.0+ (tested on 0.12.x).

• Potential conflicts: mods that replace the chat message pipeline or fully override text-linking behavior.

Performance Notes

• Builds a localized index of item names on startup and on language change.

• Overhead per message is minimal; extremely long messages with many item names may cost slightly more to process.

Installation

1. Download the mod .zip.

2. Extract it into your server’s folder: Mods/UserCode/

3. Restart the server.

Uninstall

1. Remove the extracted mod folder from: Mods/UserCode/

2. Restart the server.
