Load a container, cargo and all

Eco's trucks carry cargo the way you'd expect, crate by crate, or a flatbed attachment you stack by hand. The Semi Truck does it differently. Place a Semi Container in your yard, fill it like any storage box, then back the truck up and press the vehicle tool key. The whole container lifts onto the trailer, cargo and all. Set it down the same way at the other end. No unpacking a container just to move it, no re-loading crates one at a time.

While it's aboard, the container's contents sit in a 40-slot hold on the truck itself, so you can still work the load on the road.

Built on a vehicle Eco never turned on

The Semi Truck is built on Eco's own tractor and trailer rig but is not craftable yet. This mod turns it on rather than building a competing truck from scratch, so it drives on Eco's own vehicle physics, not an approximation of them.

The trailer is rigid with the cab, it doesn't jackknife (yet) unfortunately as this is a difficult physics feat to accomplish but I am hoping to add this into a future update.

Staying close to vanilla

• It handles like a vanilla vehicle. Same steering, acceleration, braking and suspension Eco's own trucks use, built on that foundation instead of approximating it.
• The load/unload mechanic isn't new to Eco, just new to containers. It works the same way the vanilla Truck Dumpster Loader already does, this mod applies that same technology to shipping containers as the dumpsters work.
• It looks like Eco. Model, materials and item icons all come from the game's own art.
• Cargo stays sealed inside, same as any other storage object - nothing visible through the walls.

Where it sits

It costs more and drives a little slower than the Truck. What that buys you is the container itself, a standalone piece of storage furniture that also happens to be cargo, moved whole instead of shoveled in and out by hand.

What it does

• Places, fills and loads shipping containers with a single key press, cargo stays inside, no re-loading crates by hand
• 40 storage slots, 10,000 kg, in a container that also stands fine on its own as yard storage
• Drives, steers and brakes on Eco's own vehicle physics, wheels included
• Two seats, one module slot for the container loader
• Headlights and tail lamps that switch on
• Repairs with an Advanced Combustion Engine, an Electric Motor, rubber wheels, a radiator and the usual small parts
• Air pollution and minimap presence, same as any vehicle like it

Install

1. Stop the server.
2. Extract the zip into your Eco server's root directory - the folder that already contains Mods/. It puts its files in Mods/UserCode/SemiTruck/.
3. Start the server. It compiles the mod on boot.

Players don't install anything. Eco sends mod assets to connecting clients automatically.

To uninstall, delete Mods/UserCode/SemiTruck/ and restart. Any Semi Trucks or containers already placed in the world go with it.

• Built and tested against Eco Server 0.14.0.2 (release-1054).
• Server-side only. No client mod, no launcher, no extra downloads, the vehicle physics and the vanilla art it's built on are already part of Eco's own client.
