No More Books V13

No More Books V13 changes the way skill research works in ECO.

Instead of creating one reusable skill book, every skill book recipe creates single-use skill scrolls.

Default setting:
3 skill scrolls per research

This makes knowledge sharing more controlled, keeps research valuable, and helps server economies stay active for longer.

What does this mod do?

- Replaces skill book recipe outputs with skill scrolls
- Default output: 3 scrolls per research
- Encourages trading and cooperation between players
- Prevents one reusable book from unlocking the skill for everyone forever
- Server-side installer
- No client download needed in most cases
- Scroll amount can be changed during installation

Installation

1. Stop your ECO server.
2. Upload the mod folder to your server.
3. Run the installer:

bash install.sh /eco-server 3

The number at the end controls how many scrolls are created per research.

Example:

bash install.sh /eco-server 5

This would create 5 scrolls instead of 3.

4. Start your ECO server again.
5. Check your server logs.
6. Test a skill book recipe ingame.

Uninstall

Stop your ECO server and run:

bash uninstall.sh /eco-server

Then start your ECO server again.

Important

This mod does not include ECO core files.

The installer reads the existing files from your own ECO server and generates local override files on your server.

This makes the mod cleaner and safer to share because it does not redistribute original ECO game code.

- ECO 13.x server structure
- Linux dedicated server
- Server path: /eco-server

Recommended for

- Economy-focused servers
- Long-term worlds
- Servers that want research and professions to matter longer
- Servers that want less instant mass-unlocking through reusable books

Notes

Always make a backup before installing any server mod.

If your ECO server uses a different install path, replace /eco-server with your own server path.
