About Over9000SignPowerMod

From mod.io

Turns your sign into something more informative

The current version of the mod is 1.8.2. The latest tested version of the game is 14.0.2. Please note that just because the mod hasn't been updated in a while doesn't mean it isn't compatible with newer versions of the game.

Version 1.8.0 is incompatible with game versions earlier than 0.11.1.12.
2.0.0 WIP (still).

How long have you wanted to make an animated advertising sign for your store? Or hang a clock on the wall showing real (or not real) time? Have you ever wanted to make a sign above your store that shows if you're online? Then you definitely need this mod!

Features

  • This mod allows you to create dynamic signs showing time, online players, number of players per profession, cyclically changing texts and icons.
Supports conditional behavior based on whether a player is online or not.
  • You can change the speed at which signs update (so far only a global delay applied to all signs in the world)
  • The mod is optimized, it caches all possible states of the sign
  • There is support for data output from third-party mods. You can create an addon
  • When using the OnlinePictures addon you can place any image with url or that you took on the server on any sign!

Installation

Checks game version support in release changelog
Simply place the mod in the mods folder.
The database storing the signs is external and located at the path TModsData/Over9000SignPowerMod/Over9000SignPowerMod.db

Configuration

TargetTickTime - target sign update rate
MinimumTickTime - minimum delay between signs updates
DatabaseUpdateFrequency - number of ticks between updating the number of the current tick of signs in the database
MultithreadingEnabled - parallel processing of sign updates. It is definitely not in your interest to turn it off
SkillCacheUpdateInterval - frequency of skill cache updates
AdminOnlyMode - a mode that prohibits players from using the commands of this mod

Metrics

Over9000SignPowerMod uses an own metrics-system
Metrics are really useful to keep track of how the mod is used and helps me stay motivated
Metrics: Over9000SignPowerMod is sending a small report, containing general information about the server, the version of the mod, its config and mod performance data.
There are plans to make the metrics publicly available at a later date

Commands

User commands
/sign Register {readonly=false} - registers the sign, you have to look at the sign when entering the command
/sign Stop - stops the sign, writes the original text into it
/sign SetLength {len} - sets the maximum size of the text in the table. Useful when you want to fit a lot of text on a small sign. The maximum length is 5000. You might have to move away from the sign at rendering distance for the changes to take effect.
/sign CopyObjectId - Shows and copies the object id to the clipboard for later use in tags.
/sign Copy - Copies sign raw text to clipboard without stopping them.
/sign SetText - Sets the text entered in the chat to a sign. Replaces [[ with </ and ]] with >. Use as a temporary fix for 0.11.1.11. Example: /sign SetText [[rTime]]

Admin commands
/sign SetGlobalUpdateInterval {timeMS} - set the speed at which signs are updated. The default is 1000ms.
/sign Reload - loads changes from the database, if you changed it while the server was running (for debugging and enabling disabled signs)
/sign ReEnable - tries to enable all the signs stored in the database (in case they are disabled for some reason)
/sign GeneratePerfomanceData {samplesTicksCount} - Creates a file with performance data. Tick time, number of signs per player, data for each sign. (Use 0 to interrupt data collection)
/sign ExampleRu - Creates several signs stacked on top of each other with text from the Russian example and registers them.
/sign ExampleEn - Creates several signs stacked on top of each other with text from the English example and registers them.
