About Shovel Big v12
From mod.ioThis is just a re-upload for people who don't want to really change the text files themselves. Instructions are included for how to do that as well though
You don't need a mod for this, As of a few updates ago. All you have to do is change some text files, I'll attach instructions on how to do this as well. If like myself you can't be bothered. You can download this instead. This version i've uploaded will be increments of 15 per shovel tier
With this being an override, If you have any other mod that changes the same files. One of them will stop working, You would have to manually combine the changes from both into an override or mod to keep them both working. If you run into any issues just leave a comment and i'll see if i can resolve it.
If you want to buy me a coffee or tea, maybe a beer you can do so here: https://ko-fi.com/hakameda
Install Instructions:
To find the files, On steam, Right Click Eco, Select manage, then browse local files. It will open up the main game directory. This will be different for a dedicated server, but chances are if you have a dedicated server you'll know how to locate the game directory
Simply download the file, unzip it then open the folder and right click Eco_Data and select copy. Inside your main game directory, Right click and paste the folder
DIY Instructions:
To find the files, On steam, Right Click Eco, Select manage, then browse local files. It will open up the main game directory. This will be different for a dedicated server, but chances are if you have a dedicated server you'll know how to locate the game directory
We'll be browsing to "\Eco_Data\Server\Mods\__core__\Tool" For those that maybe don't know how file paths work, I'll also explain the steps but you can skip ahead if you understand what i'm talking about
From here you wanna open the Eco_Data folder, then the server folder, then the Mods folder, then __core__ folder then the Tool folder
A simple way to do this next step is just to right click the empty space in this folder and create a new folder called Tool. Note: These next few steps case sensitive, meaning it has to be exact. For example Tool requires the capital T
Next you will want to copy the files into this new folder you made called Tool, For this you need to right click WoodenShovel.cs and click copy. Open the folder you made, right click paste
Repeat this step with the other shovels, for reference this would include IronShovel.cs , SteelShovel.cs, ModernShovel.cs or if you ever have any other modded shovel. Golden Shovel Soon Tm
Next you will need to right click each file and rename them by adding .override to each one, for example WoodenShovel.cs will be instead become WoodenShovel.override.cs
Once you have done this for each file, you can right click them and select edit, Any text editor will work usually, like Notepad
The change you will need to make is on line 116, though this could change in the future. Currently a quick way to locate it is to just hold control and hit f to open search and input: int MaxTake
Otherwise search for this line in the file:
public override int MaxTake => 1;
You'll need to edit this line for each tool, This is the one for WoodenShovel.override.cs, Simply change the 1 to any desired number. For this version that i'm uploading i'll be doing increments of 15, thus i'll change the line for wooden shovel to:
public override int MaxTake => 15;
Then just hold control and hit S or on the top of the editor, click file save. Both work the same, some text editors could be different
Once this is complete, Go back a folder, and right click and hit cut the Tool folder you made earlier. Then you'll need to navigate back to your main eco folder similar to the earlier step and we'll create some new folders to actually use these overrides
It's important that you select cut not copy for this step, as if leave a copy of the folder you made inside the previous folder the game will error out when making a new local world or a multiplayer server
We'll be browsing to "\Eco_Data\Server\Mods\UserCode\"
You'll want to open the Eco_Data folder, then the Server folder, then the mods folder, then the UserCode folder. In here is where we will make a few new folders. Note: If you have installed other mods or anything some of these folders could already exist and there is no need to create them.
To start right click and create a new folder called AutoGen, Then open it and right click paste the Tool folder you made earlier. At this point you could launch the game and everything should be working.
If you decide to also upload a copy of your mod, this next part is just for simplicity for other users, You can mimic the folder structure by just making a few empty folders. Note: This is also case sensitive and has to be exact as the name between the " "
Right click to make a new empty folder, rename it to "Eco_Data"
Then open this folder and make another called "Server"
Then open this folder and make another called "Mods"
Then open this folder and make another called "AutoGen"
Then open this folder and make another called "Tool"
Then you can open this folder, and place a copy of the shovel override files from earlier inside for example WoodenShovel.override.cs
In the end you have a file path that looks like this: \Eco_Data\Server\Mods\UserCode\AutoGen\Tool
What this means is that when somebody downloads and wants to install the overrides, They can just unzip the file you've uploaded and paste it into there main eco directory, This works because folders combine when they have the same name which ensures the files go into there correct paths
You can then zip this file and upload it to mod.io or w/e
