About Progressive Locomotives (2.0 + SE)

From Factorio Mod Portal

Ties the Continued train family together in one pack: Fluid Trains Continued, Diesel Locomotive Continued, Steam Locomotive Continued and Realistic Electric Trains Continued. Removes the vanilla locomotive recipe by default, so steam -> diesel -> electric is the intended progression rather than an optional add-on.

Progressive Locomotives (2.0 + SE)

One mod to pull in the whole Continued train family and make steam → diesel → electric an actual progression, not just three options sitting next to the vanilla locomotive.

What's in the pack

Installing this mod fetches the rest of the family automatically:

Vanilla locomotive removal

By default this mod removes the vanilla locomotive's crafting recipe — railway tech unlocks the Steam locomotive instead, and the vanilla locomotive is never craftable at all. Existing locomotives, trains, blueprints and saves are completely unaffected; this only blocks crafting new ones. A startup setting ("Remove vanilla locomotive recipe") turns this off if you'd rather keep the vanilla locomotive available alongside the family.

Compatibility

Confirmed working in-game with Space Exploration, including the vanilla locomotive removal. Also compatible with Combat Mechanics Overhaul (matching the rest of the family).

Credits

A thin wrapper around the Continued family — see each mod's own page for full credits and lineage.
