Bigger bases as you level up.

Base Radius Improved grows the base camp radius as your base levels up and rescales the blue boundary dome to match, so what you see is what the game enforces.

No setup needed: install, enable, done. Out of the box every base level adds +5% radius, growing a base from 35m at level 1 to 2.7x that size (about 94m) by level 35, the max base level. Want a different curve? A simple config file lets you set the exact radius for every base level, plus a hard cap.

Features

  • +5% base camp radius per base level by default (guild-wide level; level 1 = vanilla size)
  • Covers every level up to the max base level, 35 since the Palworld 1.0 update raised it, and follows automatically if a future update raises it again
  • Configurable: set the exact radius for every base level (1 to 35) and a hard cap in a simple config file; the defaults match the classic growth exactly, and configs from older versions gain the new levels automatically
  • Multiplayer sync: the server's config is the source of truth, and modded clients pick it up automatically. No chat spam, no manual config matching
  • The blue boundary dome on the palbox scales to match the real radius
  • The base upgrade screen shows your radius growth alongside the other level rewards
  • Linked ranges scale too, so an enlarged base keeps working: pal work coverage, wild spawn suppression inside the base, and raid start distance
  • Works in single player and co-op; Windows dedicated servers fully supported and live-tested (install guide below)
  • Event driven and lightweight: no polling, no per-frame cost
  • Update safe: if a Palworld update changes what this mod relies on, it turns itself off rather than risk your save

Requirements

  • Palworld 1.0
  • UE4SS for Palworld: subscribe to it on the Steam Workshop (also listed as a required item above)
  • If you previously installed UE4SS manually (from GitHub or Nexus), remove that copy and use the Workshop version. Out of the box a manual UE4SS only loads mods from its own Mods folder, and running two copies of UE4SS crashes the game on launch. An environment variable can technically bridge a manual install, but the Workshop version is much simpler.

Multiplayer

Install the mod on the server (or co-op host) AND on every player's client. The server's settings are the source of truth: modded clients pick them up automatically, so the upgrade screen and the dome always show the server's real values. The gameplay radius always follows the server. A player without the mod still plays with the correct enlarged radius; they just see the vanilla-size dome.

Dedicated server install (Windows)

Only dedicated servers need these steps. If you host multiplayer from the in-game menu, your machine already is the server: a normal install on your machine (plus one on each friend's client) is all it takes, and you can skip this section.

The steps below are the exact setup this mod's multiplayer testing runs on. [olist] [*]Install UE4SS on the server: download UE4SS-Palworld.zip from the experimental Palworld release and extract dwmapi.dll plus the ue4ss folder next to the server's shipping executable in <server>\Pal\Binaries\Win64\ [*]Get the mod files by subscribing on any client (Steam downloads them to steamapps\workshop\content\1623730\3765017449). Create the folder <server>\Pal\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\BaseRadiusImproved and copy EVERYTHING from that download folder into it, the whole Scripts folder included. When done, its Scripts folder should contain all eight .lua files, not just main.lua [*]Create an empty file named enabled.txt inside that BaseRadiusImproved folder [*]Start the server and check <server>\Pal\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\UE4SS.log for "[BaseRadiusImproved] v1.2.2 active" and "role: authority". Those two lines are the proof the server is running the mod; without them players get vanilla behavior no matter what their clients run [*]Optional: edit <server>\Pal\Saved\BaseRadiusImproved\config.json (written on first run) and restart the server to apply [/olist] Linux: native Linux server builds cannot load UE4SS; hosts have reported success running the Windows server under Wine or Proton (untested by us).

Troubleshooting

Almost every "not working" report is the same setup issue: the mod runs on your client but not on the machine that runs the world (the co-op host or the dedicated server). Quick checks:

  • The upgrade screen shows ? for the next level: that is the mod telling you the server is not running it
  • The dome grows but pals and building do not work farther out: same cause, the world machine does not have the mod
  • Check UE4SS.log on the host or server for [BaseRadiusImproved] lines: the machine running the world must log "role: authority". If it logs "role: client" or nothing at all, the mod is not installed there
  • No log lines on your own machine either: UE4SS is not loading, or the mod is not enabled

The fix in every case: install and enable the mod (plus UE4SS) on the machine that hosts the world, not just on player clients. For dedicated servers that means the manual install above.

Save safety and uninstalling

The mod writes no new data into your save; it only updates the radius value the game itself stores for each base. A save touched by this mod loads fine in unmodded Palworld. After uninstalling, a leveled base keeps its last radius (shown with a vanilla-size dome); pick up and rebuild that base's palbox to return it to vanilla. Or do a clean reset first: set radiusByLevel to {} in the config, load once, and every base returns to the vanilla radius.
