QualityOfLife is a multiplayer-focused Palworld mod that reduces repetitive grinding and improves base management.
[IMPORTANT: MAJOR STRUCTURE UPDATE]
This version uses two pak files, one unified QualityOfLife Lua mod, and one QualityOfLifeConfig.json.
If you used an older version, stop the game/server first and back up your QualityOfLifeConfig.json before deleting old files.
[REQUIRED DEPENDENCIES]
- UE4SS Experimental for Palworld - PalSchema
Lua features require UE4SS. Passive-skill weights, Capture Power statue costs, and expedition time changes require PalSchema. Dedicated servers must install and enable both dependencies on the server.
[FEATURES]
- 1.5x base range by default. - 4x Pal work efficiency by default. - Fast travel from anywhere through the world map. - Better passive-skill lottery weights. - Lower Capture Power statue upgrade costs. - 0.5x base time for newly started expeditions. - Pal condensation costs changed to 2 / 4 / 8 / 16, 30 total. - Larger normal storage containers and Guild Chest. - Automatically merges dropped items inside bases.
[OLD FILE CLEANUP]
For client cleanup, open the game folder from Steam: Steam Library -> right-click Palworld -> Manage -> Browse local files.
Inside the opened Palworld folder, check these locations:
1. Pal/Content/Paks/~Mods/ Delete old pak files: QualityOfLife_P.pak QualityOfLife_All_P.pak
2. Pal/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods/ If present, delete old folders: QualityOfLifeBaseRange QualityOfLifeFastTravel QualityOfLifeWorkEfficiency The old QualityOfLife folder may also be deleted after backing up QualityOfLifeConfig.json.
3. Mods/NativeMods/UE4SS/Mods/ Some UE4SS Workshop installs use this folder. If present, delete the same old folders listed above.
4. Active UE4SS Mods/PalSchema/mods/QualityOfLife/raw/ You may delete the old QualityOfLife.json. The new version regenerates it from QualityOfLifeConfig.json.
For dedicated servers, check the same relative locations under the PalServer root:
- PalServer/Pal/Content/Paks/~Mods/ - PalServer/Pal/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods/ - PalServer/Mods/NativeMods/UE4SS/Mods/
Use the Loading mods from path in UE4SS.log as the source of truth. If both UE4SS Mods folders exist, clean only the one actually being loaded.
[CURRENT FILE LOCATIONS]
Pak files: - Client: Pal/Content/Paks/~Mods/ - Server: PalServer/Pal/Content/Paks/~Mods/
QualityOfLife Lua mod: - Client common path: Pal/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods/QualityOfLife/ - Client alternate path: Mods/NativeMods/UE4SS/Mods/QualityOfLife/ - Server common path: PalServer/Pal/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods/QualityOfLife/ - Server alternate path: PalServer/Mods/NativeMods/UE4SS/Mods/QualityOfLife/
QualityOfLifeConfig.json is inside the QualityOfLife folder.
PalSchema generated data: - UE4SS Mods/PalSchema/mods/QualityOfLife/raw/QualityOfLife.json
PalSchema config: - UE4SS Mods/PalSchema/config/config.json
[CONFIGURATION NOTES]
- Server baseRange controls gameplay. Client baseRange controls the displayed boundary. Keep them the same. - workEfficiency, passiveSkills, captureStatue, and expeditionTime are server-authoritative. - fastTravel is client-side and may differ per player. - Passive-skill values are relative lottery weights, not guaranteed percentages. - Existing Pals are not rerolled. - Existing containers may keep saved capacity. Build a new container when testing.
[PALSCHEMA AUTO-RELOAD IS REQUIRED]
Enable both mods in UE4SS Mods/mods.txt:
PalSchema : 1 QualityOfLife : 1
Make sure PalSchema/config/config.json contains:
{ "languageOverride": "", "enableAutoReload": true, "enableDebugLogging": false }
Some PalSchema packages do not include the config folder. Create it manually if needed. Fully restart the server once after creating or changing this file.
[DEDICATED SERVER QUICK INSTALL]
1. Stop the server. Back up PalServer/Pal/Saved and QualityOfLifeConfig.json. 2. Remove old QualityOfLife files listed above. 3. Install UE4SS Experimental for Palworld and start once to create UE4SS.log. 4. Install PalSchema in the same UE4SS Mods folder. 5. Put the QualityOfLife folder in the active UE4SS Mods directory. 6. Put both QualityOfLife pak files in PalServer/Pal/Content/Paks/~Mods/. 7. Enable PalSchema and QualityOfLife in Mods/mods.txt. 8. Enable PalSchema auto-reload. 9. Start the server and check UE4SS.log.
Expected log lines include:
Starting C++ mod 'PalSchema' [QualityOfLife] Loaded config [QualityOfLifeBaseRange] ... Initialized at 1.50x [QualityOfLifeWorkEfficiency] ... Applied ... verified runtime value(s) [PalSchema] Loading mod: QualityOfLife
