Push Vehicle

Ever had a vehicle blocking the road with no way to move it by hand?

Push Vehicle lets you physically push stationary vehicles forward or backward, or turn them from the sides, using your character's Strength. Server admins can configure stamina cost, push cooldown and the maximum pushable vehicle weight.

How to Use

Keyboard & Mouse

  • Stand at the front/rear to move it straight, or near the front/rear section of either side to turn it
  • Make sure you are close enough for the green interaction square to appear
  • Right-click the vehicle and select Push Vehicle, or use the configurable Push Vehicle hotkey
  • The hotkey can be assigned under Options → Key Bindings

Controller

  • Stand at the front/rear to move it straight, or near the front/rear section of either side to turn it
  • Press D-pad Up to open the vehicle radial menu
  • Select Push Vehicle

Front and rear pushes move the vehicle straight. Push near the front or rear section of either side to gradually turn the vehicle.

Features

  • Push vehicles forward or backward from the front or rear
  • Turn vehicles by pushing near the front or rear section of either side
  • Server admins can disable side pushing in Sandbox settings
  • Configurable Push Vehicle keyboard hotkey
  • Uses the vanilla shove animation
  • Push strength scales with your Strength level
  • Heavier vehicles are harder to move
  • Pushing consumes stamina, with a configurable cost multiplier
  • Configurable delay between pushes
  • Optional maximum pushable vehicle weight
  • Works with trailers
  • Full controller support
  • Multiplayer compatible and tested
  • Vehicle movement is synchronized between players

Strength Scaling

Your Strength level directly affects how much force you can apply when pushing a vehicle.

  • Strength 0: ~60% push power
  • Strength 5: ~130% push power
  • Strength 10: ~200% push power

Vehicle weight is also taken into account, so a lightweight car is much easier to move than a heavy van or truck.

Balanced & Vanilla-Friendly

Push Vehicle is designed to feel like a natural part of Project Zomboid rather than a cheat.

Stronger characters can move vehicles more effectively, while heavy vehicles still require significantly more effort. Pushing also consumes stamina.

The mod only affects stationary vehicles and does not replace normal vehicle physics or collision behavior.

Sandbox Settings

  • Allow Side Pushing — enabled by default
  • Stamina Cost Multiplier — default 1.0x
  • Push Cooldown — default 1.0 second
  • Maximum Pushable Weight — default 0 (no limit)

These settings are enforced by the server in multiplayer and are also respected in singleplayer.

Controller Support

Full controller support.

Controller players can access Push Vehicle directly from the standard vehicle radial menu by pressing D-pad Up while standing in a valid front, rear or side-turn position.

Controller support works in both singleplayer and multiplayer.

Multiplayer

Fully multiplayer compatible and tested.

Players can take turns pushing the same vehicle, and vehicle movement is synchronized between connected players.

Keyboard, mouse and controller players can all use the mod together. Server admins can configure side pushing, stamina cost, push cooldown and maximum vehicle weight via Sandbox Settings → Push Vehicle.
