Brita's Armor Pack B42.20+ | Standalone Armor Port & Multilingual Fixes
Standalone · Armor and clothing only · 11 languages supported
This is an unofficial, standalone B42 port of Brita's Armor Pack. It preserves the original armor pack’s content while addressing clothing layers, equipment slots, wearable containers, night vision, and other issues encountered during the B42 port.
Maintained from Build 42.20 onward, with Build 42.21 as the current maintenance target. Please check the latest update notes for compatibility with later builds.
The original Armor Pack and standalone Night Vision Framework are not required.
This mod does not include Brita's Weapon Pack. It does not add Brita firearms, Weapon Pack ammunition, weapon magazines, or the GunFighter system. Other weapon mods are optional, but not every combination has been verified.
Main Fixes and Improvements
These fixes primarily address compatibility and functionality issues encountered when bringing the original Brita armor pack to B42:
- Fixed clothing-layer issues affecting ballistic vests, plate carriers, and selected heavy armor, allowing them to work with jackets and other clothing where appropriate.
- Fixed wear-layer issues affecting the Field Canvas Raincoat and related outerwear.
- Fixed missing storage functionality, incorrect wear positions, and selected slot conflicts affecting backpacks, chest rigs, belts, thigh pouches, and other wearable containers.
- Fixed storage and ammunition filtering for supported shotgun shell bandoliers and restored their vanilla-style reload bonus. Added the corresponding bonus to selected compatible chest rigs and magazine carriers.
- Fixed missing battery requirements, selected night-vision loot distribution issues, and previously identified key-rebinding and notification errors.
- Fixed confirmed helmet-specific visor requirements to reduce clipping caused by incompatible equipment combinations.
- Fixed native gas-mask filter integration for the K1, PMK-1, and PMK-2 half masks, enabling the appropriate respiratory protection through the game’s own system.
- Fixed foot-masking issues affecting Salomon Men’s Guardian Tactical Boots and USCM Boots, and added native bedroll attachment slots to selected conventional backpacks.
This is primarily a compatibility and functionality project, not a complete rebalance of backpack capacity, weight reduction, or armor statistics.
Language Support
Supports 11 languages: English, Simplified Chinese, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Turkish.
Localization covers this mod’s item names, relevant wear-position and transformation menus, night-vision messages, and settings text. The displayed language follows your game language setting.
Important Gameplay Information
Bandoliers, Chest Rigs, and Reload Bonuses Supported shell bandoliers, selected shotgun chest rigs, and magazine carriers provide a 15% reload-speed bonus for the corresponding loading operations.
Not every chest rig, ammunition pouch, or wearable container provides a reload bonus. Eligibility depends on the equipment and loading operation. Equipping multiple supported carriers does not stack this mod’s equivalent carrier bonus.
Helmet-Specific Visors Selected specialist visors require their matching helmet to be worn first. Remove the visor before switching to an incompatible helmet.
Updates do not automatically delete or replace equipment in existing saves. Previously equipped incompatible combinations must be adjusted manually.
Gas Masks and Filters Masks integrated with the native protection system require a usable filter, which depletes normally during use.
Existing K1, PMK-1, and PMK-2 half masks do not receive free filters after updating. Install a compatible filter through the vanilla crafting menu.
Gas masks do not cure existing illness and do not provide universal protection against every poison, infection, or bite.
Backpack Bedroll Attachments Selected supported backpacks can carry a rolled sleeping bag through the vanilla attachment system. If the attachment slot does not refresh after updating, try removing and re-equipping the backpack.
This feature does not apply to every chest rig, radio pack, breathing-apparatus pack, or other specialist container.
Night-Vision Guide
[olist] [*]Place the device in your character’s main inventory and leave it unequipped. [*]Right-click the device and insert a charged standard battery. [*]Equip the device in its Active / ON state, then press V to toggle night vision. [*]Unequip the device before removing or replacing its battery. [/olist]
The default toggle key is V and can be changed in the night-vision settings.
At the default 1.0× battery-drain multiplier, a fully charged battery lasts approximately 12 in-game hours. Low charge causes flickering, and night vision shuts down when the battery is empty.
Loot distribution updates affect newly generated loot only. They do not reset previously generated or searched containers, and finding a device is not guaranteed.
Sandbox settings allow the integrated night-vision feature and additional carrier reload bonuses to be disabled separately.
Installation and Compatibility
- Do not enable this alongside Brita_2, standalone NVFramework, BritasArmorPackB42Fix, or another conflicting Brita Armor port.
- Fully exit and restart the game after installing or updating.
- Multiplayer servers and all clients must use the same mod version.
- Back up important saves before changing game builds, substantially changing your mod list, or removing the mod.
