Gas Pump Indicator
A mod that colors the LED slit on gas pumps — the small lit indicator above each nozzle — to show fuel and power state at a glance.
In vanilla, the only way to check a pump's state is to right-click it (or read the small "OUT OF GAS" sign that appears next to some pumps at random). This mod paints the LED slit that already exists on every pump sprite, so the state is legible at a glance from anywhere on screen.
Update (2026-08-07, v1.6): The remaining fuel readout has moved from Mod Options to the sandbox settings, so it can be managed server-side in multiplayer. If you had it enabled in v1.5, it will be off again by default. On a new world you can turn it on in the sandbox settings at world creation. On an existing world, add -debug to the game's launch options, turn it on in the debug menu's sandbox options, then reload the world.

LED States
- Green LED — Power on, fuel remaining
- Red LED — Power on, tank empty
- No LED — No power (grid or generator offline). In multiplayer there is one more case where the LED stays off; see the Multiplayer section.

Glow at Night (new in v1.2)
At night the LED glows in its green/red color, so the state stays readable in the dark. By day it keeps blending with the ambient light as before.
Vanilla 42.20 also added a lit-pump effect, but it only lights up at night while the power grid is still on, and only in white. This mod's LED also works on generator power, and at night it glows green/red in place of vanilla's white light.

Remaining Fuel Readout
Turn on "Show remaining fuel in the right-click menu" in the sandbox settings and the pump's right-click menu shows how much fuel is left. Off by default.
Sandbox settings are fixed once a world is created, so changing this on an existing world needs the -debug launch option and a reload of the world.
A pump with no power shows no readout, since its fuel amount has not been determined yet.

Vanilla-Authentic Visuals
The LED slit shape (the small parallelogram slit above the nozzle) is taken directly from the original pump sprite, so the recolored LED lines up pixel-for-pixel with the vanilla art. A luminance blend fades the edges into the surrounding pump body, avoiding the "flat colored sticker" look.
Left and right nozzles on the same pump tile pair are evaluated independently. Both 2x and 1x sprite resolutions are supported.

Supported Pump Sprites
All 8 vanilla gas pump sprites are covered:
- Fossoil pumps (East/South facing × left/right tile)
- Gas2Go pumps (East/South facing × left/right tile)

Compatibility
- Supports: Build 42
- Works in singleplayer and multiplayer
- Standalone — works with vanilla, no additional mods required
- Safe to add to or remove from existing saves (no world state is modified)
- No script or recipe additions — rendering and UI only

Multiplayer
Tested on a Build 42 co-op host.
- The LED is rendered locally on each player's screen. The mod never modifies or transmits world state — no fuel rolls, no signs, no network packets.
- Like any mod, it must be added to the server's mod list to be active in multiplayer.
- MP-only detail: a powered pump can show no LED if the game has not yet determined its fuel amount (typically a pump running on a player-placed generator that nobody has used). This is intentional — on a client the mod only reads what the server has already determined. Switching the generator on does not trigger that by itself. Open the pump's right-click menu once (no need to take fuel), or leave and revisit the area — either one makes the game determine the fuel amount. Once determined, the amount stays with the pump, so turning the generator off later only hides the LED and it comes back when the generator is switched on again.

Notes
After you switch on a generator that powers a pump, the LED can take a few seconds to appear. Zooming the view in or out makes it show up right away.
