You can dig moats. This video shows how to build moats.

How it works

You need a shovel to dig. Right click on a natural ground tile and select Dig Moats. (moats are walkable tiles) Over time, the moat will fill with rain water. (tainted water: you can use it to wash, water crops etc..) Over time, the moat will fill with water from contiguous tile if any. Once the moat is filled in, it becomes a vanilla water tile. (water are blocking tiles)

Sandbox options

You can decide to hide shores around water tiles builts from moats. This allows to show paths that may be hidden otherwise.

FAQ

Works for B41 and prior versions. Use this other mod for B42 and further versions. The mod can be added or removed from the mod list anytime. At moats dig time as well as at moats flood time, all objects on the tile are removed. Works in multiplayer. It was lightly tested in MP so use it at your own risks. In MP, water tiles recently created may be invisible at first(black). Quit and reload to show them properly. If you have the mod but it does not work, follow steps 3 and 4 from here. If you have generic modding questions, ask on PZ Discord. If you still have questions or suggestions ask in the comments and begin your with 'I read the descriptions'.

On Lockdown This mod cannot be modified by anyone else, for anything else, at all, ever. Even if the user disappears, he or she would much rather you didn't touch the fruits of their hard labour.

If you wanna support kind words are very welcome. If you don't have any, you can still PayPal.

That's it.

Why are you still here ? There is nothing more for you here. Go digging !
