About Ember
From ThunderstoreMeadworks home comforts: faster nights when some players sleep, torches that warm like a campfire, doors that open as you walk up. Required on all peers.
Ember
Make nights pass faster as players sleep, keep warm with torches and let doors open as you approach. Optional bed and respawn tools help you return home without replacing the game's destination checks.
Features
- Speed up night according to the share of players in bed; the normal morning skip still works when everyone sleeps.
- Keep cooking, smelting, crop growth, fermenting and pickables at normal rates during the sleep boost; each timer protection is configurable.
- Sleep in another player's claimed bed by default, subject to native roof, fire, enemy and wet checks; its owner and your spawn point stay unchanged.
- Optionally respawn at the nearest known owned bed, with a choice when several are known and maps are permitted; destroyed or reclaimed beds fall back to another candidate.
- Quick Respawn and Stand Up On Respawn start off; they can shorten death/loading waits or skip the getting-up animation while retaining destination validation.
- Listed placed torches provide campfire warmth, resting and the bed's fire check; a held torch warms its bearer.
- Fuel Free Fires defaults on for standard torches, held torches, campfires and hearths, preserving stored fuel and durability; hearth smoke is unchanged.
- Smokeless Fires defaults on for supported fires. Optional night-only torches light after dark; O toggles a permitted torch's keep-lit choice.
- Doors open as you approach and close after everyone leaves; default open/close distances are 1.5/2.25 m for doors and 3/4 m for drawbridges.
- Reach interactions from 1.5 times the native distance; object permissions and limits still apply. Bed warnings discard confirmed stale enemy sensing.
- Choose Vanilla, MeadWorksDefault, Relaxed or Custom sleep and door presets; editing a member selects Custom without replacing saved values on load.
- With Solstice, use seasonal night lengths, held-torch fuel drain and warmth; Cairn can show sleeper counts and the night boost on its HUD.
