About Shepherd
From ThunderstoreMeadworks animal husbandry: feed troughs, the Husbandry skill, breeding with sires, star inheritance, twins, herd limits and lineage. Required on all peers.
Shepherd
Keep animals with buildable feed troughs, Husbandry perks and breeding records. Manage herd capacity, follow commands and offspring while preserving Wildblood's authority over creature stars.
Features
- Build plank or stone troughs; tamed animals walk over and eat, including supported young creatures with native food AI.
- Optional container feeding is off by default. Mark player-built containers with Shift+Use; private containers, graves and troughs are excluded.
- Raise Husbandry through taming, feeding, petting and breeding for faster taming, longer feeding intervals, calmer animals and tougher companions.
- Husbandry also improves butcher yield and animal produce; feeding young animals does not accelerate growth.
- Breeding records the sire at conception and can produce twins, with saved parents, generation, birth day and breeder.
- With Wildblood's Tamed Stars on, offspring can inherit both parents' stars. Without it, newborns keep the mother's level; taming keeps existing stars.
- With Solstice seasons enabled, breeding is faster in spring and slower in winter; existing pregnancies still finish.
- Optional strict herd limits delay births, land pens set local capacity, and breeding can pause on moving ship pens.
- Open the nearby herd book from the Meadworks menu or trough to inspect lineage and rename tames; supported animals also gain native follow/stay commands.
- Optional honey-rate controls use a daily amount or online player count; native hive conditions and capacity still apply.
