About MonsterLabZBalance

From Thunderstore

Personal MonsterLabZ encounter balance and progression tweaks for Valheim 1.0.

MonsterLabZ Balance

A personal balance of selected MonsterLabZ encounters for Valheim, based on my own preferences for progression, spawn frequency and rewards.

The mod keeps the following MonsterLabZ natural world encounters enabled and disables the other MonsterLabZ natural world spawns. A runtime guard discovers MonsterLabZ CreatureManager prefabs at runtime and reapplies this whitelist immediately before normal world-spawn evaluation, so CreatureManager configuration updates cannot re-enable excluded encounters. Internal/helper spawns used by MonsterLabZ are left intact. All curated natural spawns are limited to level 1 (no stars).

Spawn configuration

Spawn frequency is configurable in BepInEx/config/xnolde.monsterlabzbalance.cfg. The server values are synchronized to clients.

For every curated encounter you can configure:

  • Enabled
  • Chance (percent per eligible spawn check)
  • Interval (seconds)
  • MaxCount

The four land encounters also expose GroupSizeMin and GroupSizeMax. Every curated encounter exposes Spawn time, with the same Day, Night and Always values used by MonsterLabZ. The defaults preserve the mod's existing schedule, except that all three Dwarf Goblin encounters are intentionally set to Day: Mycotic Greydwarf = Night; Dwarf Goblin = Day; Dwarf Goblin Shaman = Day; Dwarf Goblin Loot = Day; Goblin Ship = Day; Draugr Ship = Night; Deep Sea Serpent = Night. Biomes, progression requirements, ocean depth and the rest of the balance remain fixed by the mod.

The default values are the values listed below.
