Alegacy Quest Framework is a full-featured quest and boss combat engine for Vintage Story. Originally started as a fork of VSQuest by G3rste, the project has since been completely rewritten and expanded into a standalone framework powering the alegacy.online server.

The mod includes quest system with branching NPC dialogues, real-time objective tracking, boss hunts with rotation and combat AI, solo trials with difficulty tiers, custom items with quality and stats, a journal, promo codes, quizzes, reputation, and more. All systems are modular — use what you need.

Everything is data-driven through JSON configs. No C# knowledge required — define quests, dialogues, items, bosses, and entire questlines purely through configuration files distributed as separate mod packs. Full documentation is available on GitLab. A dedicated visual desktop editor (desktop app) is included for creating and managing all content without touching JSON manually — featuring a node-based quest graph, item/boss editors, localization tools, validation, and patchnote generation. Note: the editor is in active development and does not yet cover all framework features.

⚠️ BEFORE YOU INSTALL

The mod depends on Arcanum Lib!

Quests from the original VSQuest mod are not compatible. This mod is under active development. It does not add content — it provides the framework to create content. Without quest packs installed, it does nothing. Singleplayer mode is not the primary target and may have bugs, the framework is designed and tested for dedicated servers.

📦 EXAMPLE QUEST PACKS

These packs were created for the Alegacy server. They are balanced for our server environment and won't work properly elsewhere, but you can use them as learning examples.
