<span role="text">Freeform Atelier: Unbound Placement</span>
What if nothing snapped into place unless you decided it should?
Freeform Atelier breaks the invisible grid.
This mod allows you to freely place nearly any item in the world using Vintage Story’s alt down mouse cursor system, giving you full control over position and orientation. Rotate, nudge, and settle objects exactly where they feel right—on shelves, against walls, half-buried in dirt, or scattered naturally across a space.
No more fighting the grid. No more “close enough.”
<span role="text">What It Does</span>
- Check the in game Handbook for Control Guide
- Enables free placement of items with full positional control
- Uses the game’s built-in alt-look mode for intuitive movement
- Lets you rotate and align objects naturally
- Turns dropped items into intentional decoration, clutter your builds your way!
<span role="text">Why It Exists</span>
Vintage Story thrives on immersion—the weight of objects, the texture of survival, the sense that everything in the world has a place.
But placement has always been rigid.
Freeform Atelier gives that control back to the player.
Build spaces that feel lived in.
Create messy workbenches, believable storage, detailed interiors.
Place things where they should be—not where the grid allows.
Even place things inside chiseled blocks.
