Description
Liber Terra makes Vintage Story's old books into a library you can actually read. It adds 84 historical works from antiquity through the late medieval period, split into 563 readable volumes sourced from public-domain Project Gutenberg editions. + Tons of QoL for organizing and collecting books.
Find them in ruins and bony soil, browse every volume in the creative inventory, stack books on the floor in eight layouts, carry an armful, or throw one when literary criticism becomes physical. Requires Vintage Story 1.22.x.

What is new
📖 v0.6.0 — READ A BOOK
Every modeled book in the Resonance Archives is now a real book you can take and read. That includes the floor piles, stacks, and rows, plus the books in intact, ruined, and lore bookshelves. Right-click to take one, or Ctrl + right-click to take several.
This goes beyond Resonance Archives, almost all vanilla clutter bookshelves can have book extracted from it. That includes Better Ruins and other ruins.
As a shelf empties, its remaining books keep the exact leaning, stacked, and shelved poses the ruin designers gave them. The displays are filled with distinct readable volumes — mostly Liber Terra books, with occasional vanilla lore — and a lore shelf still gives its specially marked discovery book first.
Not yet: vanilla's separate large-book props — open, closed, standing, piled, lectern, and very-large bookstand variants — were not converted in v0.6.0. They remain decorative, so their books still cannot be taken.

The library now reaches farther across the ancient and medieval world:
- Classical Latin: Roman Farm Management: The Treatises of Cato and Varro.
- Classical Greek: Sophocles' Oedipus trilogy and Antigone, plus The Argonautica.
- Medieval Arabic: The Awakening of the Soul by Ibn Tufayl.
- Old English collection: Game and Playe of the Chesse.
- Ancient Sanskrit: Sakoontala by Kālidāsa.
- Ancient Irish: Táin Bó Cúalnge, translated by Joseph Dunn.
- Medieval Italian: Longfellow's Divine Comedy and La Vita Nuova.

Features
Long works are divided into volumes that fit the Vintage Story book interface. Heimskringla alone is 25 volumes, so collecting a whole work can be a project of its own.
