Manual Bait

A small quality-of-life mod for players who want baiting rods to feel more natural without changing the core fishing and bait system.

Manual Bait makes baiting fishing rods smoother and more hands-on.

Hold bait in your offhand, then sprint and right-click with a fishing rod to attach it after a short action. Standard bait items and valid small or tiny fish bait can be used this way, while normal fishing rod behavior remains unchanged.

 

You can disable grid crafting baiting recipes in the config file. Defaults to false.

 

If players request, I can make a configurable version to allow to use shift/sneak again, but it would cause you to have issues while boat fishing.
